After Batman won the surfing contestant against the joker and avoided the dangerous sharks using his shark repellent can, he has now created a new form of weapon in can in the depths of the batcave..

..As much as I like to believe that scenario.. that isn't the case.. introducing.. the brand new liquid condom in a can!

-------------------------------------------
China's first liquid condom went on sale today after the country's health and drugs administration formally gave the hi-tech prophylactic the thumbs-up, the China Daily reports.

Dubbed the Nanometer-silver Cryptomorphic Condom (NCC), it's designed for female rather than male usage. The condom-in-a-can is essentially an antiseptic foam spray that the manufacturer claims forms a physical membrane inside the vagina, protecting it from infection, acting as a barrier to pregnancy and providing a lubricating effect.

It's not known who makes the NCC, but Beijing-based Chinese-Canadian condom maker Blue Cross Biomedical has been touting something along these lines for a while now. It maintains its spray-in condom "can effectively kill gynaecological disease pathogens such as staphylococcus aureus, Candida, coliform bacillus, and can prevent sexually transmitted diseases.

"It can remain in the vagina for a long time without destroying the vagina's chemical balance," the company adds. "Daily use of this product can help maintain genital hygiene and prevent infection by pathogens".

The condom's antibacterial properties presumably arise from the nano-particles of silver incorporated into the spray. Or do they? In South Korea last week, the Korea Consumer Protection Board (KCPB) lambasted local washing machine vendors for claiming their products, which are coated internally - not unlike... - with a nano-silver spray, kill 99.9 per cent of germs in the wash.

Not quite, said the KCPB - it's the hot washing water that's killing the bacteria, not the coating.

And, judging by the photo, we can't help thinking at least some customers will find applying the product more stimulating that actually putting it through its paces. Making whether it actually works or not a somewhat moot point. ®

Well I guess that's somewhat good news they created something like that.. finally this will somewhat help guys in not participating in opening any condom packages that are hard to open.. or atleast they can't be torn off :p

hmmm.. It fights off infection, it protects from conception, but does it cut through a steel can? OR help in my car insurance?!

"Honey, I've got bad news and good news. The bad news is that 'Liquid Condom' didn't work and I'm pregnant. The good news is it just saved me a lot of money on car insurance by switching me to Geico."

Comments? statements? :XD:

Couldn't find much on net, just some bloggers comments.
I wouldn't feel comfortable at all, it just passes all the stress on us.

NEVER mention the word breakthrough when talking about condoms or contraception.. it brings bad luck ;)

Chinese can really invent all kind of things! I do not quite understand why it is called "liquid condom" instead of simply "liquid contraceptive". A condom is still something which should be on a man and not on a woman...

Anyway, it is still an interesting new invention. They do not mentioned how much should be sprayed in?...how long should a woman wait until that membrane is formed and she is on the safe side?... how to remove that membrane afterwards without causing a mess? :os

(PS: this thread might best suit in the Health Sabla)

lol yeah..

"It can remain in the vagina for a long time without destroying the vagina's chemical balance," the company adds. "Daily use of this product can help maintain genital hygiene and prevent infection by pathogens".

I'm guessing if it doesn't destroy the chemical balance then i suppose everything is okay?

...it just passes all the stress on us.That is why the pill is a much easier solution and less messy, even though I understand that this foam has the advantage to maybe kill also some gyno diseases.

I can only imagine if in the middle of a heated moment, the girl takes her spray, shakes it with great anticipation and only realizes then that there is near to nothing left in the empty can!... :weep:

Calm down XP; It'll still be a while before one'll ever see this anywhere else in the World.Shino, I was asking these questions because it is already on sale in China today. Even if it is not on our shelves yet, it might be tomorrow...not that I will need such spray one day ...

it's easy to use girl next door.. ;)Call me stupid, but I really did not get what you meant here? Even if you go to a 'girl next door' (UAE?), shouldn't there be still some kind of method of contraception even if it is not the product mentioned by you earlier?

(PS #2: GS mod or SuperMod, shouldn't this thread be moved to Health Sabla?)

I'm not sure I quite follow xpress :lift: all I know is that it can be applied easily rather than the painstaking minutes a man wastes when he trys to open the condom :p

Sorry MK, it is my mistake for not noticing it and yours for not writing correctly.

When you said => "it's easy to use girl next door.. ",...
.... how on earth I could have guess that...
.... you meant to say => "it's easy to use, GirL NexT DooR.."

View the context of this thread, I thought you were talking about girls in Dubai (<=next door of Oman  ) that are easy to found...Sorry, but I do not read every member's nick in a thread?
