I think a decree was passed on which will allow the start of new private radio stations next year. Correct me anyone if I mistaken ? :)

I guess three or four radios stations will be on, & one tv station. I guess the tv station belongs to OHI, I am not sure what kind of programs they will broadcast.

Hope so Thug4Life. I believe the two allowed languages to be used are Arabic & English, so we wont expect something similar to these radio stations in Dubai.

i just hope they get proffesionals so sit in... preferably someone who is a native speaker...

I also hope they offer special programs and not everything under the sun in one station... 90.4 could be for news, traffic updates, talk shows, etc... and the new private station for a different crowd...

if this was true, i'll be a radio freak! Especially if Kama’s hope turns out to be a plan that is on the road of implementing.

The only time I switch my radio on is when I drive to work to listen to the news. That is once in a blue moon!

I just read somewhere that the two companies been granted the permission are the Oman International Holding Company and Sabco Establishment.

I believe for the Sabco Establishment, they will be involved into music & these stuff.
