View Full Version : The new road (Mawalih)
Thug4Life 28-10-05, 02:34 PM As time is passing by the shape of the new flyhover(bridge) at al mawalih roundabout is clearing up....a forty shape one!...making us remember the oldy fort that was in that place as a roundabout!!
I Think its a Great design and idea...
When is the turn of the airport roundabout?
Is the road open now? Its been ages since I used that road...
Any one took a pic of it to see how it looks like now?
Sallam,
As you said Thuggy, that the shape is clearing, and i was glad to see it shaped back to the old roundabout.....
As i was back home for 2 weeks, this roundabout made me smile, when i was passing by.:)
I think Alkhoudh roundabout looked a bit dull.....it is only enlighten with the planting on the sides...... not a uniqe shape in it.... :bored:

Sallam,

bil 3aks, i think that roundabout is good and its actully very nice its too helpfull and unique.. thats why i loved it, and il mawali7 roundabout would be the same but with some extra stuff with it..
i actully love those kind of roundabouts its better then the old ones.

Sallam Talal,
long time bro:)
Welcome back.....
Well what is so special about Alkhoudh roundabout?
I think if they would build flyover/roundabout in the same was as they are doing in Mawalih, in the meaning of giving every one of them a special look it would be nicer than to keep them so simple, though without spending lots of money on constructing them! :os
it will be oipening on the 18th of november and a couple of days after the 18th the airport roundabout will start work on it :)
ahh..I used to love the old roundabouts with the castle and the quran one , but I am sure these changes is for the best.
why would they need to change the airport one? is there alot of traffic there?

Sallam,
LOOLL Nabo, you need to pass by the Airport between 2:30-4:30pm on week days, and you will see how is the Traffic controlled/Uncontrolled :os
It used to be a Hectic place in a Hectic time......
since they have provided the back road that connects Athiba and Seeb, it has been less jaming, but yet it still needs to be controlled......
NiGhTFaCe 28-10-05, 09:46 PM I though it will be a waste taking the fort from that place. But, good to see them building a flyhover taking the same design.
Sallam,
What about the HAmriya and Ruwi Fly overs, is there going to be any changes?
amo_l_oman 08-11-05, 12:57 AM Hello!!!
Had to buy something at Carre4 tonite so i started my adventure with the taxi, we went around for about 45 min then he realised that he had to go to Seeb suk and back, 20 minutes more, better i don't mention how much he asked.
I don't understand one thing: is it supposed to stay like that????
No cause then is easier to go in Dubai City Centre, is near the airport.
Blossom 08-11-05, 01:57 AM Pictures anyone! i would love to see how it looks like now.
Arabian Princess 08-11-05, 07:47 AM Amo Amo .. patience patience .. its supposed to be ready in national day so hopefully next time you go to carr4 you wont face this problem :)
Muscati 08-11-05, 09:57 AM Amo- that's only bcz they are working on the final phase of completing the project which involves finishing the intersection underneath the flyover and connecting the flyover with the highway ahead of it. That's why they closed the intersection since last Friday and the whole flyover and intersection should be open real soon. Probably within the next 7 days. Hence for the time being to get to City Center you have to go to the Khoudh intersection and back.
Muscati 09-11-05, 07:42 PM According to today's paper the flyover opened yesterday!
:)
amo_l_oman 09-11-05, 09:12 PM Eh today had to go to Army Hospital which is all way straight, didn't have the problem walla :D
Thug4Life 20-11-05, 02:13 PM I LOVED the new road..the Theme of the Fort ...Very Very unique... Thumbs Up for this designers and the minispality :)
Wardat_il'7leej 20-11-05, 02:25 PM The new flyover is open and I think it’s a better concept than roundabouts. It should reduce traffic accidents and smoothen our traffic flow.
NiGhTFaCe 20-11-05, 03:08 PM I should force my to go to the City Center, so I can have a closer view!
