This is a tradition that is going on since long time.

I don't know how it is and why,I just know that it HAS been going on for as long as I remember and it has something to do with mid-ramadhan!

It wasn't in Intercon only, there was another one in City Centre, Qurum Park, Sabco and lots of other places.
And how come its 7aram?! :mmhmm:
I think it's a lovely tradition..and should always continue and people should encourge it by buying sweets and giving them out to children. It used to be alot nicer b4 though..and as arby said , we used to go to sabco and they had many functions and the shops all had sweets to give away. Dunno if they still do it..but I hope they do.

NiGhTFaCe 19-10-05, 04:51 PM I dont think this tradition is that active like the old days. We used to hear loud voices singing. But, I guess no more!
GirL NexT DooR 19-10-05, 05:01 PM People are civilised those days, they go to hotels to celebrate! :bored:
Thug4Life 19-10-05, 05:01 PM I dont think this tradition is that active like the old days. We used to hear loud voices singing. But, I guess no more!in some areas in Muscat if you talk about the capital....such noises still exsist as loud as it used to be :hyper:
EarThQuaKe 20-10-05, 04:19 AM Its is 1: Omani Tradition
2: Been since long time
Now what are the cities that celebrate it? If its an omani tradition then I guess most of the omani cities should celebrate it. In fact, I've never heard of it until 5 years ago. So much for an Omani traditions. As for "been since long time" I don't see any old books mentioning it.
Anyway, personaly I think its making kids happy so there is no harm in it, but I won't teach my kids to beg. :)
F_H, Its forbidden because its a Zionist idea to destroy islam. :D
Give the kids a break and to those who said its forbidden tell them to write books in topics that are important to us rather than wasting their and our time.
Wow i reallly love this event and i really love the kids when they wear the omani traditional cloths soooo cute! :D they look adorable i took my bro to city for it! he was really happy and exited about it and kept asking me WOULD SPIDER MAN COME! :hehe:
