Why women need plots anyway?

I mean it's meant for men to build houses so they can have a family, and women is part of the family, duplication is not required.

What if a female has no brother, father, or a husband..................and she had to end to live alone...........say fro example she is a widow and she has kids.....................wouldn't she need a house to secure her life and her kids life????????????????????

Mmmm, I think because girls aren't supposed to be living alone, they're either with their family, of which their father heads, or with their husband....

The periority is for men. Espacially if the demand is high and the offer is low. A woman is not requested to build her own house, it's the man duty who is looking after and supporting the family to provide the home.

It's not haram and any woman can buy a land if she wants. ;)

However, I think some exceptions should be made for certain women, ie widows, divorcees, woman who's parents died and she needs a new house.... stuff like that.

I agree with fatamoo with the exception part.

then again I believe we have a wide space in this country.... all for men?...
if a woman has the means to take care of herself I dont see the problem

Where is the space, do you mean deserts??

You can have a plot in 'rub3 al '7ali' if u want.

i understand that the priority is for men............but that does not give an excuse for women not be in the image!

All the empty spaces are inhabitable right now aren't they? I mean, will water and electricity even reach those places? Right now, I think lands are being given in places where those facilities are provided...

yakhee whatever the consequences are... it wouldn't be fair not to allow women to have plots... since they also belong to the country... besides, it actually is allowed... isn't it?

Actually, they are allowed but under certain conditions (unmarried/widowed/doesnt have a provider..etc). As a matter of fact, a friend of my mother's just recently got a land, not sure where though.

I don't know what I would do with a land if I got one, probably sell it.... to a man ;)

STING

Because its the resposibility of the man to build house and keep the female in it. And the females that have no man r allowed to apply. Like divorced women.

So basically its quite clear why not female. Thats how the society is. If females take the responsibility of making the house...etc. I am sure they will stop giving the males land ;)

TripleTee

alright... and now back to reality... :mmhmm:... build houses to keep the females in it??? what are they statues?? crops u have to take care of?? that's what it sounds like :os... nah... how about a woman building a house for a man??? ever happened?

It is common sense. The lands are in a high demand and there are many men out there who need it , since they would be the main provider of their family at one stage of their lives. They should be a priority. I don't think the government would discriminate against women if they had enough suitable lands to offer. Psycho , mentioned that there are exceptions to this rule. So I don't understand what the argument is about !
It is very rare for a woman to build the house and support her husband. Even if she did build the house , alot of them women , rent it to their husbands. Thus making the men the main provider like preached in our religion and which has proved to being the norm in our society. But then again , there is nothing wrong with a woman being independent and supporting her husband as long as he does not mind. (I wonder how many would agree to this ? lol ) :)

I think Psycho summed it up .. if the female needs the lans, she can apeal for exception and I heared some got it .. but in the norm, its the man who is responsible of taking care of the household.

until she reaches that she'll be married already...lol...
but ok... as long as there's a reasonable reason and not something like: cuz u're a woman!.... I understand...

At least there is an explentation for what is happening..................

But yet i think it is not fair that female only are given the plots when there is a only difficult circumenstances...................................

And what is wrong in a married lady wanting a plot from the government to build a house and rent it for others?!!!!!

PsYcHo
05-09-05, 08:52 PM
She's married, so if she wants a plot and cant afford it, her husband could apply for one and build it.

but even if her husband was given one, it won't be hers......cause it will be in his name....................unless if he will agree to name it on her name.......then this is a different case..............which is rare to happen really................ :lift:

Well then, she could take out a loan, buy a plot, build and rent it, but thats an option alot wouldnt go for because of the loan obligations.

Well this is my point..............................it's the Loan issue.................that stops many people from owning a land/plot
