I personally have NEVER been to salalah , so I don't know excatly what the fuss is about this so called 'fesitval'. has anyone over here ever been to one of them? what is it like and is it worth it?

Myself I have never been to Salalah as well, & I am not sure if I will do it one day. I dont know what the festival can offer. But, I dont think it would really pull me.


I believe its all about the place, where the nice weather & great natural scenes, so as maximum one week is enough for being there.

Comparing the weather here & the other areas to Salalah, of course it will be that amazing, people are running from the hot weather!

I'v bein to Salalh many times and i really love it there...

ive always wanted to go to khareef salalah but never got a chance to..

I just came back from Salalah for about the seventh time now ... I love it there ... The weather is not the number one attraction for me ... It's the natural heavinly-scenery ... I mean it's like being in Europe with the same sense of hospitality and security you feel home

It's a great place and I im in Romeo-Juliet in love with it ... But theres are a few things that I despise ... first : the festival ... I can't see whats the fuss about ... Personally i didn't go this year because I knew there will be nothing new in it ... Just the normal omani festival like feeling

second thing ... they do say that salalah has alot of insects ... but there is nothing like this pest that's called KHALEEJI PEOPLE ... you can't walk down the street without being bitten by one of them ...

especially those Emirati ones , raising their car sound systems in public places with their stupid bedouin songs ... they even do the stupid stick dance that comes with it

In general ... you know how you throw some sugar on the floor and come back after 5 minutes and see ants and cockaroaches all over it ... That's how it is

I dont care much about the festival when am there
the most of what I care is the campings and the highlands...
the water springs and the water

I've been to salalah.. but it was longtime ago i think 2001 or 2000!?? can't remember.. The festival over there is similar to the one that happens in Muscat every year.. only difference is the lovely cold and fogy weather.. am sure its more improved now and there trying their best to make a better festival out of it :cute: I wish i had the chance to be there.. i heared the concerts are great.. and alot of people are enjoying it..

THE khareeef this year was awesome :D
and am glad that i went there to breath some cold air :D
everything was going well ,i say that coz this year there were lot of families from lot of
countries came to salalah and most of them were really happy !!
well u can say that by there faceses :D

insallah next year it would be better and better ..

What about the organization of the festival? some people didnt like it much

well its was good so far!! what we can do in there while there r nothing like centers and whatever!! thatas why some ppl didnt like it... but i guess it was good enough...
