I'm taking about an artice I've read in "Zahrat ilKhaleej Magazine" Issue Date July 9th.

This wrote to the magazine seeking legal advice....
Claiming that her brother raped her couple of times, since she was 8 years old..
She didnt relize till she grew older..

What do U think of such incedent? isnt it sad...
I dont know how people have turned so low...
Such cases happenes where father rapes his daughter, uncle raping his niece...

Imagine U've been in such case...
What would U do? Keep silent or tell Ur family?

If U had a friend who was raped by her family member...
And she seeked ur advice, what would U advice her?

I know they deserve to be burned in HELL, those rappers...
If it was up to Ur hands, What punishment U'd give the person?...

This is extremely horrible to hear, not just because that she is being raped, but that there are many families that may choose to ignore it, may think that she is lying or hallucinating, and also perhaps side the rapist. E.g. A mother who knows that her daughter is being constantly raped by her father does not do anything abt it and instead keeps her mouth shut, for fear of divorce and her family's name.

I feel that in such cases, it is best to always talk to someone you trust and who knows will believe you. Never keep quiet. It could be an aunt, a cousin, even a school nurse or the authorities. Most importantly, never keep quiet. Your safety and well being is much more important than reputation and such factors.

If someone told me abt such a thing, then the authorities should be told abt this. The rapist must be put to trial and behind bars.

It is not easy at all to speak it up, especially in our societies where everything is so hushed hushed. and a rape from a rape differs, they all come to the same concept at the end but to the person him/her self it differs. in either way it is just very hard to confess about it.

I'm not really sure what i would have adviced cause being there is totally different from being the advisor.

It's so horriable & terrefying knowing that we lake saftey within our own shelter...
Its hurts more when it comes from a close person.. a family member!!!

i think its really sad that this happens to girls..!!! some1 i know was harrassed by her uncle he use to touch her and try to kiss her!! when she told her parents they didnt belive her untill he began to harrass her younger sister they then belived it!!! sad that parents wouldnt belive their own child!!!!
belive it or not though some of these fathers that do such a thing to their daughters poisin their daughters mind and tells her that he is only doing this because he loves her or that it it just a fun game that they play and some girls really belive this!!! how would a 7 year old know what her father is doing to her she would put it in her mind that it happens to call 7 year olds!!!
