We'll finally see our national clubs playing in the major club tournaments in Asia and in the Arab world here's the break down

-Muscat (the league's champs in 2002/2003) will participate in the GCC championsCup (16-29 of sept)

-Arooba (runner up in the league this season 04-05) will participate in the Arab champions league (will start in sept)

-Dhofar (cup winner) will take place in the Asian cup and since they also won the league they'll participate in the GCC Elite league cup (nov 05-april 06)

- Nasser'll participate in the GCC Elite league cup (nov 05-april 06) since they won the league 03-04

- The new cup winner will represent oman in the Asian cup

- If Oman is ranked in the top 8 in the fifa Arab ranking the runner up of the cup will participate in the Arab league Cup

very good news but why they didnt participated befor?

I guess they didn't have much backing from the Ministry.

Omani clubs has been playing always. But, though they ignored the Asian's ones for years.


I just remembered that Oman club became the 2nd in one of the Asian competitions.

Excellent. More exposure, more international experience. Thats great.
