In your own opinion from the various things produced or manifactured in Oman
from food to electronics..what is/are the things that you consider OUTstanding and even can reach to the level of a high international quality item?

Chips oman :p , they really should start exporting it to other countries at least the arab world.. that way my friends here wont have to ask me to get them chips whenever i go back to oman! :os

I like Oman's potato chips even more... chips Oman's a bit too spicy for me... but they do make good chips :D....... what about Bahar? :p... and LUBAN!!!... we're clearly famous for that... also dates!!... I'll name a lot more when I remember :D

Best Omani product ever has to be Raha sleeping mattresses. They are world class, affordable, available in a huge range, and incredibly successful. They are used by hotels all over the world. I read somewhere that 60% of the hotelrooms in Dubai have Raha mattresses.

Second would be Nabil Glucose biscuits :)

YUMMMY.... i used to have that at Su7our everyday during Ramadhan... its great.. u can also have it with Chips Lays.. any kind will do it.. BUT Chips Oman is the best :D....

heard they get rusted and spoiled fast!

Well after many years of use they will get damaged, espacially if no maintenance done to them. Also I think it depends on the quality of water used if it's salty or not.

i used to use Hotax.. and they are Ok.. BUT who needs a water heater in this lovely weather?? :mmhmm:

It was made in Oman and exported abroad by the co-orportation of a Japanies Company, if i am not mistaken!?


*As well as, 4 years ago a big fish company started in Oman with 2-3 partnerships, some are omani!

That fish company, runs a deal with some fishermen to fish Tuna fish and sent to the factory to be cleanind and cooked and canned and then export it abroad!

I cant recall the name of the company but i recall one of the others called Oman Fish!

* Plastic Oman, is one of the biggest seller as well, and they produce a big number of plastic products and they are mainly used by the locals as well as sold around the world.

*Not to forget another Plastic bags factory, they prodcue plastic bags and export it abroad, and sold locally as well,[i have been there many times, as it happens to know the owner of this place]

*Oman Stationary, as now it is more sold than the imported ones, starting with pens, pencils, rubbers,sharpners, note books and lots of others

There is also a Consumer Protection Committee (Lajnat 7emayat Al-Mostahlik)

And they are both strict with the set regulations and standards :)

There is the Omani Plastic factory; they make good quality of plastic products, like bins, buckets, containers, plastic bags….etc

They are sold world wide and I have seen them in many places in the UK, the Asian shops and in Oman are sold in the 1, 2 and 3 rials shops.

Zain products are the best!
