I'd like to ask a couple of detailed questions about nutrition, especially regarding sports nutrition. Anyone with good enough info is welcome to share it :)
(Ofcourse I've done my part, I've read so many things, most of the things I read seem to be more or less the same, but I thought getting a response from a real person would be different)
- Glutamine: Main function in the body? Main sources from an average diet or natural foods? Amount needed (rough) for an intense exercise program?
- Creatine: Main sources from natural foods? Sufficient amount needed by the body, taking into consideration the body's capability of making use of it?
- Apetite enhancers: Are there any naturals? Any methods?
Thats all for now, I could come back with more according to the responses I get, thank you! :)
dear arby... Glutamine and Creatine phosphate are my field of specialization...
My big advise for u is avoiding these synthetic products for the purpose of excercise... eat ur normal diet., Normal diet spares ur money....
regarding ur questions... well i might give u a long list..
what if u tell me about what u have an i will try to respond with my little background in sport metabolism

I'm really glad that they are within your field of specialization :)
However there are a couple of things I'd like to point out:
"synthetic products for the purpose of excercise"
If I'm not mistaken both of these nutritional supplements are also incorprated into our daily diets as well (glutamine is non other than the most abundant amino acid in the body and creatine being found mainly in red meats, both have great advantages). My question was, which natural foods are rich in these two??
"regarding ur questions... well i might give u a long list.."
Unless its a hassle for you, then I'd be more than happy to take all that you've got :)
(P.S. "if u tell me about what u have " did you mean diet here, or knowledge?)
Thanks once again! :)

Loool... someone's takin the workin out seriously here :D... I wish I could be the same... i always stop half-way through... but I guess such things are only essential for men? :os... or do women need that too Doctor?
sorry for being late.. got some work to finish.
anyway, Creatine is an essential compound for muscles. It serves as a high energy compound providing energy in the form of phosphocreatine.
the level of phosphoCreatine is different in muscular man compared to a non-muscular one.
creatine is made in the body mainly by the liver, heart, muscle and kidney. However, dietary source is important ( from animal flesh).
A 70kg adult has about 120g of creatine in the muscles, and the daily turnover is roughly 2g. About half of the 2 grams is replaced by the diet and half synthesized endogenously. The exogenous intake of creatine appears to exert negative feedback on the endogenous production of creatine (i.e., more creatine present in the diet means less production by the body).
creatine is just a combination of three amino acids: glycine, arginine, and methionine.
if you are looking to be a highly muscular man which heavy arms and legs.. then go for extra diet from synthetic supplements. If you are looking to be a healthy man with moderate muscles, then only depends on your normal regular diet...

FE that side effect you have mentioned is not related to the use of creatine whatsoever. Never have I heard, read or encountered any similar side effects.
(People always mix up the very harmful side effects of pro-hormones and steroids with harmless proteins and creatine and similar nutritional supplements :))
fatamooo yes actually it is something that does want to make you eat more. I'm not quite sure if what FaHaD mentioned is related. Maybe certain appetizers do aid in enhancing ones appetite :)
