Commercial vehicle driving profession Omanised
HE Jumma bin Ali al Jumaa, Manpower Minister, yesterday issued a decision Omanising the
profession of commercial vehicle driving in the Sultanate.
The decision was made in implementation of the recommendations of the second forum on
national manpower employment held during the period from February 1 to 3, 2003.
It is also in line with the sectoral plans and their relevant procedures issued to boost
Omanisation and employment and enhance private sector role in providing job opportunities for Omanis.
The decision sets a timeframe for Omanising the profession. Private establishments are divided into three categories and each is required to meet a fixed Omanisation ratio.
