I believe there is one general design. But, it might differ in the details.

Myself I do wear it almost everyday, for my work, & for my outgoing.

I prefer the white ones.

what do you mean differ in details? could you explain some more?

Some people will add colors to the white dishdashas, & they might add other colors to the colored ones.

You might noticed there is these lines at the back, or the front, people can chosse the number of these lines.

the dishdasha (omani male dress) design is undergoing much of intresting changes from the general look to the change in its unique identity...

in general a dishdasha can be White(most)...and colored ...
a white dishdasha can also have some few colored wonderful designs over the ends of the two arms and neck, line at the back and chest area...

at the neck region there were some recent new designs became popular specialy amongst our brothers in Salalah :)...the highetend up coller I guess...

the pockets can be of one or two sides...bag like or regular type...

personaly i choose the material carefuly...then depending on my mood...i can change the design abit BUT NOT to the extent that changes the identity of our beautiful unique omani dishdasha!!

I am not sure about the 'names' of the different designs , but yes there are quite a few types out there.

I personally prefer colored dishdashas and am not too fond of the white ones , and I like the string buttons , and not the plastic ones.

I wear dishdasha's mostly when I go to the more 'serious' places , cause in oman they don't take you seriously if you're wearing a t shirt and pants.

Yeah there is more than one design for dishdasha but it is not as you can change the regular one. Some people like ornamental lines for the back and front.

How often do you wear dishdasha?

When I was little I use to hate something called dishdasha and I don't remember wearing them except for school and barely if going to somewhere more public.

Good question :D .. As in Islam, it is more recommended and as known that the white colored dishashas are the most advisable color for formal companies. I have no problem wearing colored ones but I like white the most. I have like 4 blue dishadashas but there is a slight difference and so for gray and maroon.

Yeah, wearing dishdasha makes me feel and look more original and I definitely would like to keep our traditions and be proud of them! Honestly, by omani dishdasha we ( men ) look more sexy and we do attract women .. don't we :D ? j/k

3. Add? No, and it always looks stupid when people try to be cool make changes in the Omani dishdasha design. I've seen people who've added hoods, collars, front pockets, weird squigly embroidery... it all sucked and looked funny.

I hate wearing dishdasha. I only wear when I have to. I dont know why, but I just dont like it.

I do like the colour black and white though.

.. there are 3 essential designs.. the usual omani , the sur dishdashah or what called suriah and the burimi design which is simillar to the UAE outfit!

.. all time.. unless sitting at home or working in the farm!

No way. In this heat there's no way you can wear a dishdasha two days, let alone three. You would stink up every room you walk into. I change into two dishdashas a day, sometimes more.

Well the white ones are comfertable i guess cuz of the heat ova here despite us poor ladies with BLACK abbayas.. and at night a black dishdasha always attract me if a guy were in it lol! ;)

..if i live in Muscat then what u have said will be true.. but when u are around trees and water.. it's ok! .. beside i do have 2 or 3 showers a day but still use the same dishdashah!
