Few years back I decided with my friends to go on a trip to Jibrin..This Fort that I have always read about in our school books but didnt have the chance to go to it...
On my way to it (Dakheleya region--Welayat Bahla)
much thoughts were crossing in my mind...
Whats Soo special about Jibrin?...When will we reach?
we shared much talks with each others on the way..
talked much about Bahla...
One of my friends pointed at an OLD Masjid on the side way he said: This building Originaly was NOT here BUT it was Moved by means of (Knowledge ..) he called it :)... creepy eeh? any ways...
Once we reached the Fort...MY fell in love with it and decided that..
if I want a palace to be my home as a dream..this is the one!!!!!
Why???....Read and Enjoy!!!!

Located in Jibrin town in Wilayat Bahla; Ad-Dakhliyah region, Jibrin Fort resembles a remarkable blend of defensive architecture and sophisticated artistry
it was originally a palace built in 1671 and converted to a fort later. It is said to be the most beautiful fort in Oman, because of its decoration
Bilarab bin Sultan((1091 -1104 A.H) (1680 -1692 A.D.)), son of Nizwa's builder and the third imam of the Ya'ariba, erected the splendid palace of Jabrin in the middle of an expansive inland plain. In the interpretation of Paolo Costa, the square layout of Jabrin palace, with its two towers at opposite corners, surpasses Nizwa by unifying its defensive and residential features. Bilarab, who was known for his benevolence to poets and scholars, endowed Jabrin with a madrasa, or school.
It consists of three floors and fifty-five rooms. It is 43 meters high, 22 meters wide and its eastern wall is 72 meters long. The Castle is penetrated by Falaj Jibrin, which crosses it from the western south to the eastern north .The palace, now completely restored, still guards the tomb of its builder, who died in 1692.
According to another scholar, Eugenio Galdieri, Jabrin shows the artistic influence of Safavid Persia in the design of its plaster grates and its general apportionment of space. The flowing patterns of its painted ceilings, such as the one in the Hall of the Sun and the Moon, echo carpet designs, and offer the finest examples of such painting in all of interior Oman.
OK..heres some pix of this wondeful palace interior...
