Naruto has finally been licensed for a North American exhaustion of the anime, manga and the all the merchandising rights.

This means that many of the fansub groups are now going to stop fansubbing naruto, the torrent files will be dropped by torrent archives and it will be harder now for people to acquire episodes of fansubbed Naruto episodes. This is because most fansub groups do not wish to harm the industry and only translate anime that is not available for the American market. If people now want to watch Naruto, they should buy the DVDs that are going to come up in the 3rd quarter of 2005.

Although I heard about Naruto a lot, I still haven't downloaded a single episode for it. But now that it's licenced, I will. It's just that I like to find things the hard way :p

I just finished reading the sad news in one of the site.. How can they do such a thing.. its not fair at all :cry: no Naruto anymore :( but I am sure that some might still sub it and we will find it for sure...

Blossom this is not a joke. Although the fans might hate it, this is actually for the benefit of them at the very end, the more anime gets licensed the more available it becomes for you at your local market. Plus, you should support the industry by buying the DVDs if you really enjoy watching anime.

1 billion rials says naruto is going to SUCK inenglish. Some whiny kid who hasnt even hit puberty is going to do thevoice, and hes going to SUCK, and the whole show will SUCK, and there wont even by any sexy no jutsu because its gonna be cut. Andthats theend of something special.

Although licensing is meant to make life easier for the fans, but can be actually the death of entertainment due to censorship, bad translation quality, cheesy voice overs, and lets not forgot the delay, can you just imagine how long would it take for you to see episode number 123 dubbed in English! And lets not forget the price, paying $40 dollars for 3-5 episodes!

BTW, I have never watched Naruto, I couldn't ever bother starting watching it, I guess I made the right decision.

That's too bad, but then that's how it is. If you can't buy your anime, then maybe you can rent or borrow from a friend.

Anime is also business. The manga authors and anime makers do have to make a living, too. If everyone would get illegal copies, we lose in the end--these people won't have the money to continue their projects, and anime will disappear. Let's be thankful that they're getting licensed--more revenues for the manga authors, the Japanese studios and producers, as well as the North American distributors. Everyone is happy that way.

Like me I am willing to buy Naruto DVD but for it to be licensed.. I just hope that there would be a fan sub that won't stop subbing Naruto...

Anime producers and manga authors are affected when anime is fan subbed. For one, the revenue that should be going to them goes only to the fan subbers--and no one else. It's piracy. Do you want your favourite authors and producers starve because you're not buying the licensed ones? Yes, there are sone who buy the licensed DVD and also the pirated ones, but realistically speaking how many of you would buy when you can get it for free? See what I mean? Piracy would kill anime. Fan subbing is merely robbery. They sub these anime and let people get them for free, or else sell them. Revenues to be made from licensed products aren't generated because people would rather get them for free. Support the licensed products--you're feeding the makers of anime by buying them, and you also help them make money to produce more anime for us fans.

No, Its the whole show that has been licensed. But who gives a damn anyway ^^. I heard they're trying to wrap-up everything now and maybe jump a couple of years ahead. We might see an older Naruto (who became a Hokage maybe?) with Lee and the rest of the crew. Might as well hooked up with Hinata and had some odd-looking kids too :D

Either they place that on regular time, which would mean a lot of cuts, or place it on Adult Swim (if that's still around), with almost no edits. They were able to show Gundam Wing on Adult Swim with no edits.

actually BR they show anime during thier Adult Swim which airs after 12 midnight and it's intended for mature audience
