in which language do you like to watch anime?

I cant ever watch it if its english...it sounds too cheesy :os

As PT mentioned.. it Eng dub is just too cheesy! ... on rare ocassions its not bad... but will always prefer it as Jap...

yeah i admit watching anime in english does not have the same affect, it just sounds 2 lame!

i remember the 1st time i watched saint seiya, it was in japanease no subtitle...we just interpreted what they were saying..lol

I voted for english. Although i dont mind the subtitles.. but its such a hassle to keep on reading and reading. When i watch animation.. I like to watch the details of it to enjoy the drawings and so on , but I cant do that when I have to worry about catching up with the reading.

well the english voices tend to be cold not as animated (no pun intended) as the japanese voices

To me it really doesn't matter. If I buy an anime DVD I would watch it dubbed in English and I might even display the subs if I watch it once again to see the difference between the actual translations and the dubbed sound. I don't find it lame in English, it is impossible to 'READ' everything that is meant to be spoken. Did anyone watch Furi Kuri manga session in the anime! That was so crazy to read, I don't think I ever managed to read all that thing, though I probably watched it three times already.

On the other hand, there are some anime series that are impossible to dub due to their massive usage of complex Japanese metaphores and ambigous vocabulary. (eg. School Rumble).

Japanese of course English subbed.. Can never ever ever watch Anime in English after watching it in Japanese.. I can't even watch it in Arabic anymore.. except for the old ones that I used to watch in TV...

I also like it in English. If I want to read, I'll buy a book or its manga. I watch anime, not read. In part also, attitudes of subbies are so bad (most I've met think they're cool watching subs. I often inform them they're merely getting a translation. Of course, it's cool to hear Japanese, but then again I'd learn Japanese and then watch anime without distraction).

Milliardo Peacecraft: The thing is.. when you read subtitles its your mind who is reading it.. with the attitude of the character which you are hearing in japanese... but if you hear it in english... and the dub wasnt that good then you would get quite an off impression more like not the exact one as you are directly hearing him/her.

I go for the Japanese dialogue with English subtitles, though I feel comfortable watching it like this way.

That's only if you'll compare the Japanese from the English dub, which I don't. I just watch anime for entertainment--period. I don't go over the details of how such and such was said in Japanese; you're not enjoying it if you nitpick every detail. Anime was meant to be enjoyed, in any language, not to be debated upon by scholars. We're not talking of some holy book here. It's just anime, after all (shocking thought from an anime fan, but yes, I don't think it would make me any less of a fan for saying it).

of course its cool to watch anime in anyway we find most comforting cause as you said its for entertainment ... though I dont really go in any details... but to enjoy something its best to enjoy it at its best not even if its ok... but I do agree with your point.
