India, which has the second largest HIV population after South Africa has started a new trend in attempt to stop the HIV growth: liquor shops are required to sell a condom with every bottle of alcohol!

Unsafe sex is a growing problem, STDs are easily transmitted between uneducated drunks because they're not exactly in the right state of mind at that time to be aware of what they are doing... what do you think of this solution?

On one hand, it would definitely be better to stop the ppl from drinking and having sex in the first place but since that's far fetched and difficult to implement I suppose a nudge into at least safe sex is a smart move. If the ppl are not sick you can educate them better.

What is the main cause of spreading AIDS? The virus or moral degradation!

When big problems cumulate together and involve a huge number of people, is difficult to solve them if not in this way.
Hopefully with time also the abuse of alcohol will be solved.
I just completed a distance adoption of a child there, and was reading information pamphlets they send: didn't even imagine how big is the country and how many problematic realities there are.
Seems strange such a solution but necessary.

Anyways.. I dont see how handing out condoms with drinks would really help.. most people never really care to use Contraception anyways.
