Why don't you try searching for one off ebay or some online site? My friend just got a couple (1 IPOD and another one) for both under $400.

I bought an iRiver IFP-390 with 256MB of flash memory about a year ago and really liked the unit. It has a user-friendly interface, good sound quality, a compact size and all the features that I was looking for – mp3, WMA, FM radio, and MP3 record. You can get a 512MB model nowadays for under US$150.

Since this is the only mp3 player I’ve ever used, I don’t know how it stacks up to other brands, but iRiver is supposed to be a pretty reputable brand. Good luck.

If you are aiming for around 500MBs of memory you could take a mp3 powered mobile phone such as the nokia 6320 and use along with it a high capacity memory stick or two. (There are 516, 256, etc. MMC memory sticks).

It saves you the stress of carrying another gadget, plus you can share your songs with your friends via blue tooth this way. ;)

Best Mp3 playes now days are the IPOD.. if u can't afford getting an ipod 20 GB.. then try getting the mini ipod it's cheaper then the other one and it's only 4 GB but u can store around 1000 music..

yeah we have the mini ipod.. its from apple.. very intelligent software.. and it stores thousands of albums.. although its a bit higher than ur budget.. maybe 160 rials? .. about twice ur budget :P its definitely worth it though..
