Sisters absent themselves to share uniform!

RIYADH — In a shocking report, which left people flabbergasted in Saudi Arabia and abroad, five sisters were forced by stark poverty to be absent from school four days each in a week in order to share among themselves the only school uniform the family could afford.

Each of the five sisters take turns in wearing the uniform to school and give it to the other one to attend classes the next day. The case was discovered when a social welfare officer in one of the girls’ schools in the Al Nammas Province informed the principal that she had noticed a continuous absence by the five sisters since the beginning of the academic year. The officer tried to know the reason but the sisters refused to say anything. The startling discovery was made by the school administration.

The principal submitted a report to the Ministry of Education to explain the situation.

What made the issue more shocking is that this is happening in the world’s number one oil producer, which announced last February that it had prepared a plan to tackle poverty and launched a special fund to assist the poor.

Shocking news!!!

KSA produces around 11 million barrels per day and today the oil price is above 50 $!!!!!!!!!!

plus dont forget that Saudi has a huge population, and many people go for umra and hajj and then somehow manage to stay there ..

am not saying that it should stay this way .. but am saying its wrong to be shocked about it because poverty exists everywhere.

Yes we do agree they will be poor and rich in every country, But to the level of sharing Uniform in such A richest country in the woold that's is not acceptable,

So the shocking News isn't of one case, but One of the different cases that happens in saudia, they thousands of Saudis who are begging in the street,
Saudia who have no sherters and sleeps in the pavements, Saudis living the TIN houses (full suit) just Imagine having a four walls of Tin walls and Tin Ceiling in this Hot Countries, You need to go to SAUDIA to see by your own Eyes to realise why the walthy are being wasted to only Few Hands and majority are suffering, By the way Even Crown Prince has admitted the the poverty that exist in saudia and yet they havent done anything.

Its a sad case and inshallah those of the wealthy will fill thier islamic obligations and help them

I have been to SAUDI .. most of those in Mecca and Madina are immegrants.

Again am not saying no poor people in saudi .. am saying this story doesnt give an indication of anything ..

It's known that the poverty rate is high in KSA and als the jobless people, yes the population is high appox 20 million I think but the income is much higher if you think about it!

People shouldn't be so dirt poor in such a strict Muslim society! Zakat and charity should be so widespread that such low poverty doesn't exist. I have always had a tendency to blame society for the existence of poverty. If people cared enough about their neighbors this wouldn't happen.

we have grown to be a very dependant society .. we depend on the govt to do everything .. alright if the govt is lacking, all what people do is complain and not actually try to find soloution for the problems within the soiciety!

I agree with Arby that every society has Rich, middle, and poor. And to me thats a healthy society, if there wasn't any poor than there wont even be a word called sadaqa or Zakat.

YET, talking about Islam nowday's i pitty some of those rich people who go pray taraweeh yet miss major things like giving charities. Some people's money nowdays are in their heart and not their hand. Thinking about Gucci and his fellows..

The pint about KSA is that they have an economy totally dependent on one sector - hydrocarbons. When the oil price in 1998 was only $8 a barrel it was a disaster. But even now they're not "rich". Their population was only 5 million in the late 70's, now it's over 20. But their income has changed little. Hence their per capita GDP is only ab it higher than Oman's, where the economic problems are identical, just on a smaller scale of a population only a tenth the size of Saudi Arabia's.

I agree with you with all lavishing Palaces all over the country also around the world, and dont forget that the Ruling family has more than 1000 Billion dollars cash in Europe and American bank, and yet their people are Very Very poor, I have the feelings that the current surplus Money they have received from current higher oil price should be divided to the poor people and lift their standard of living :yes:

Osama was the creation by Americans at that time trying to get Rid of Russian from Afghanistan, and he did a good Job, But aftrer he realises that American were trying to use Him for many more dirty Games to come, then He turned against Them, Because He is the MAn who loves Justice and thats where they went in Different ways

PESSIMISM prevails on the face of Hassan Ali Thaqfi, a student of higher secondary school.
