AAWAWB,
We do it to become a better muslims.
If you have experienced being in Macca for Omra/Hajj…
• Did you become a different person when you came back?
• Did you get rid of all your bad habits such as missing prayers(in jama’a), listening to music…etc?
• Essentially…did you become a "better" muslim???
The reason I’m asking this, because I’m hesitating on whether or not to go since I have no idea what would "I be" when I come back!

I havn't been there
but I'd encourage you to go givin the chance
and what would you be is what you make your self =)
so it's all in your hands
mah Allah bless you
I have never been to 3umrah and in the past I always used to think that I am not ready for it as I thought like you that I don't know what type of a person I will be and if I will change or just remain the same..
But now I am really looking forward to go and I wish it will be soon. I am not sure what or how will I be when I get back but I would never want to miss the opportunity of going there...
Dont' hesitate and just go for it, you can never know if you will live tomorrow or not.. :) as long as you have the niyah of going then I am sure you will become a better person when you get back :)

Going to Omrah was one of the most beatiful trip I went to ever .. somehow, when you are infront the kabaa you would feel so different, inspired I guess .. some people even cry!
I went 7 years back .. I dont know if I became a better muslim or not .. but while there .. I prayed and read Quran as much as I wouldnt read if I am here..
Go bro, beleive me its such an unabilivable experience!

Ummrah
• Did you become a different person when you came back?
I guess i did change but eventually i went back to whatever it is i have been doing. I do realize that it is wrong but yet i am a more conscious person because of it. Meaning that if i am doing something wrong i realize it and judge myself before others
• Did you get rid of all your bad habits such as missing prayers(in jama’a), listening to music…etc?
No! It is your choice as to the extent that you want to change and always keep in mind that things should be gradual. You are not expected to change or become a better person over night
• Essentially…did you become a "better" Muslim???
In my eyes YES, in those around me i don’t know...i just know that i am aware of the mistakes i make and pray for forgiveness...Ina Allah '3foor ra7eem but it does not mean that i should be repeating my mistakes on a daily basis......eventually with Allah guidance i will become ''better''
May we all be guided to the rightous path...Amin

Noooooo KOA .. I never heared of this!!!
Scholars, just say .. scince you are going there to clear your sins, you might as well stop them because you come from there as clear as a baby .. so why not strat a good start after that!! nothing about being doubled for sins!
sallam King,
I have been to 3ummrah this summer in August.
It was a nice feeling to go there finally after 8 uears of planning.:)alhamdullilah.
they were great moments, and you feel that you are in a different place away from the Duniya and its affection.
=====
Wheni was on my way to 3ummrah i was thinking about what i did in the past, and i kept asking my self would i really go back home and be the same old person or would i change?!
But i said there are things i need to change them and there are things that will change by default.
=====
since i came back i started to be more strict in my prayer times, and never want to miss any of them, this was one of the things that u wanted to change....
and recently i have notice my self thati had changed a bit when it comes to listening to music, i dont listen thatoften to them, iam talking baout the tiem before we started ramdhan. but i am often now listening to anasheed, even though this change was not in the plan but it happend by deafult.:), but alhamdullilah it is a good sign.
i am not restricting my self to fasten the changes in me, i am taking my time in every thing, but only asking allah to accept every thing good from me and fogive me all the time.
there are somthings that i did not change much in me because there is no reason for me ot chagne, for example my way or style of dressing, it is the same and i dont thinkt that there is any thing worng in it as long as it is covering me[mastoor]:)
=====
But i would say it varies between every one, in the matter of the personality, attitude what they used to do and what are they attending to do.and what are they trying to achieve by going for 3ummrah or Hajj.
======
But as an advice for you , go for it, you never know it might be your only chance to get your lfie straight in the right path before the ending of your life:) and before when it is too late for it.
MAy allah give you the step for it, and for every one else 2 :yes:

• Did you get rid of all your bad habits such as missing prayers(in jama’a), listening to music…etc? i got rid of missing prayers.. but i cant not listen to music..i listen to less swearing !
• Essentially…did you become a "better" muslim??? i'd like to think so.. its definitely a worth-while experience.. the atmosphere is amazing.
