Do you believe in the existence of that sort of love? Where either partner would literally do anything for their loved one? Or are people today just too selfish and stubborn to be that loving?

Too selfish. Or people aren't fools anymore and want to protect themselves.

I would do anything for you...

...because I know that anything you ask me to do would be reasonable and rational, and if it isnt, then you arent who I thought you were, and so the contract is invalid.

love's out there for sure but sometimes ppl get involve with a totly diferent person from him/her. Thats healthy though, but each partner should accept the person the way he is no matter what. And with time runing each one will take what he can from the other . Eventully we'll have two persons with many comment things. Which make them the perfect couple even if they were fighttin' and havin' many probs as a result of comin' from two diferent world.

Love is not the same if we take a look at our hand our fingers are not equal..There are ppl who do love so deeply to the extent that they will do anything for thier loved ones...and becuz this is thier loved ones ofcourse they would not ask for too much...cuz they are madly deeply in love with each other (love birds)

2ndly there might be true deep love...and one might say to thier loved ones that they will do anything...but it's just talk no more...and ofcourse no action carried out...

Very reasonable.

Unfortunatlly, I don't think it's that simple. Once you get involved with someone, things just naturally get more complicated.

I liked that. I think it all depends on how reasonable that thing your partner asks you to do. if she/he asks u to do something that is basically way too hard for u to accept then i guess he/she is the selfish one.

The real question is do u bail out when u dont get what u want? I think people who bail out just cause they didnt get what they want , actually prove that they didnt have enough love for their partner to just accept him/her for his good and bad.

:) You know love is an obsession. There are few incidence when people do such thing i.e. suicide, self-torture even sometimes do some perverted attitude like torturing the so-called beloved one.

I know people who does crazy things not getting his/her desired one such : burning, throwing acid , shooting and many thing more at the person whom he/she calls LOVE

My saying sounds crazy I know, but it happens.

Poor Love, Crazy love ….

Loved PT's reply! (dude, I couldn't rep you on that post ... have to spread more around!)

As everyone keeps mentioning, depends on how reasonably the 'request' is. Being in love does automatically come along with a commitment of keeping your partner safe and fullfilling their demands "reasonably", even if no one mentions the "I'll do anything for you" part.

Well, I'm not sure if that kind of love actually exists, I have seen people go to great lengths for their loved ones, but maybe they had alterior motives, so until I experience it myself, I can't be totally sure that it does exist :D

I don't think that sort of love exists today. To be honest, I'm not sure if it ever did, but if it did, it would have been a long, long time ago. I find that as time goes on, we, the human race, become more and more selfish. The world has changed so much and so have our values, beliefs, etc. We live in an "every man/woman for him/herself world".

There are some people who would do a lot for others, as long as it didn't cause themselves a disadvantage.

it does exist but people don't see it much often
as i said sometimes the guy would do everything for the girl but she's to busy to notice it
or the girl will be doing everything for they guy but he's to busy to notice it

There are those who use the phrase to exemplify their undying love to others but i think that its just excessive since there are very rare situations where a person would sacrifice his/her life for another.

Living in the truly romanticized world of today then this sort of word is just the expected norm of those who fall in love and confuse the concept of love with lust....( don’t kill me its just my opinion :D )

People today just too human to be that loving.

Well , it depends how much he/she loves him/her
Some people would do anything for the other person who they are madly in love with and others would say it but wouldn’t do it , or they think they can but when it comes to doing it they back off .
Sometimes you think you can do things and your sure of it, but when reality comes you realize that you cannot ! not because you don’t love that person , but because other things stop you from doing so, probably something’s greater than love !
call me crazy , but i still believe that some of these people do exist
