Al-Salamu 3leikum,

Ramadhan Kareem to all,

I've got a wee problem, would be thankful if anyone could help me out..

I just bought a USB LAN adaptor for my laptop.. on the box it has the Microsoft Windows sign, including XP (my window's version)...

After installing the hardware, I got a message saying that the hardware is not digitally signed... and it could cause problems to my laptop... so far, it has allowed me to get online... but not sure, would it cause a problem later on?

what could the reason be?!! my flatmate's got the same adaptor and it's worked perfectly well with her XP..

Thanks in advance...

No worries, as it is working with the most adaptive one it's okay. MS just informed it was not specifically recognized yet.

As Hasnain mentioned, its not recognized yet by windows or not been added to its known hardware list. Therefore, it wouldnt identify it digitally signed. There are lots of hardware, which will follow the same case. So, there isnt much to worry about. As long as the box, declared it as compatiable then it should be fine.
