Hmm, I'm not too familiar with laptop hardware, but I'd suggest you contact your computer's dealer and ask them if your processor can be upgraded to P4.

By the looks of it, EVEN IF you're able to upgrade by purchasing a new motherboard, you're looking at a lot of $$s. You'd much rather buy a new laptop, I'd say.

BUT, as I said, I'm not good with laptop hardware. Hopefully Don Khalid takes a look at this ...

by changing the motherboard, u also will change the other accessories which r outdated now, ull get a new processor, ram, hdd, video card...etc

so thats not upgrading, thats buying a new one! :gap:

Laptops are very difficult to upgrade, and for the processor it is impossible because if you want to put a new processor you have to change the motherboard, and if you want to change the motherboard you have to re-define the whole shape of the laptop (make a new one). It is simply "IMPOSSIBL"

I believe it's not possible, as the CPU in Laptop / notebooks I know always are integrated. There may have option to increase the memory, HDD but not the CPU I know.

Very true and well said.

Allow me to disagree people. In my book, there is nothing impossible.

Dark Project, you can always contact the manufacturing company if u want to upgrade. I have a laptop myself and I upgraded it many times. I don't know why you people are saying that it's impossible! Maybe it would depend on the company itself. :duh:

You are right if it this upgrade is under 300-400 RO. approx. 800-1000$ (Near the price of a new one). Still remember he wants to go up from Pentum2 to Pentum4. tell him how much this will coast (if possible)?

You're better off buying a new one.

Get a new one, I'd say. For pictures, movie clips, the requirements arent really that high (unless you use tip top photo editing software), but its the games that'll really need a good processor and video card...

You go for a new one! Upgrading a processor is like buying a new computer, even it might cost much more!
