"Intellectual theft" of software is rampant in the US and all over the world with programs like Kaza and others.

Iranian government has come out and plainly said "it's getting harder to steal Microsoft software" so they are moving to open source Linux.

Do you have any stolen software on your computer ?

the programs.. there's just one program tht is sort of like Napster, but hasn't been found out about yet, so it hasn't been shut down.. :) so yeh, i guess i do!! but their just songs..

More than half of the software on my computer are pirated, but I am actually ashamed of it. I think that it is wrong, and I am going to buy most of the programs I like using at some point in the future.

I'd say most of the software on my computer is pirated. And I'm ashamed to say that I don't even feel guilty. That's one of the reasons why piracy is rampant; it doesn't really feel like stealing. And it isn't per se. Theft (of tangible property) is when someone takes property that belongs to another person without the permission of that person with the intention of depriving the rightful owner of his property. Copyright 'theft' is making an unauthorised copy of a copyright work but does not actually deprive the owner of that property; the only loss is economic (usually). All the copier is doing is making another copy for his personal use. While this is not exactly legal, legislators in many countries have almost allowed this in order to concentrate efforts on tracking down and arresting those who trade in pirated copies for commercial purposes as they're the ones who pose a bigger threat to the industry.
