It's a disturbing thing when some people enter the mosque while holding their mobile phones and forget to switch it off. And turn the mosque like a church where the bell rings and music is played there!

What is your opinion about this and did you notice it happening while praying?

You are right, and some people during the “Jamaa” (gathering), pray do get some calls, and they keep their phones ringing because they are more religious to move their hand into their pockets, no problem if the 100 people around them disturbed by the ringing and lost their concentration, still they have to keep them selves from being distracted, and let the rest go to hill!

Other people do put (belly dance) tones, and these tunes are really so stupid to the limit that you feel that these men are just small kids. It is clear that some people misunderstand the whole thing, and they don’t want to close their mobile phones even for a few minutes. They don’t want to lose some money or appointment or what so ever, and they totally un-aware that they may simply lost their prayer and wasted their time.

It is not wise to gain some (rewards) from your prayer at the mosque, while gaining Huge amount of (bad deeds) for each one around you who have heard your lovely Tunes!

Allah should be more important for you than a wasted phone call.

This is so bad, cauz the prayer time is a holy period nothing should disturb your thinking from your worshipping.

What you said is correct, I wonder why they don't switch it on when getting a call instead of disturbing the whole people with dancing music. I'm sure that if the person saw a snake infront of him while praying he will react so why not to do the same with mobile phones!

Once I did that mistake of taking the mobile with me into the mosque, and I really forgot to switch off the mobile actually, on a friday prayers in Melbourne.

I got really embarrassed when it rang, but I'm sure people are doing it with intention to do so, people sometimes just forget to turn off the mobile, especially if the person doesn't go to mosque regularly, and prays at home or work place most of the time!

I'm talking about our condition here in Australia, mosques are far away from where most of the muslims live, so most of the people go to mosque only on fridays, otherwise most people conduct their prayers at home

Went to the state Mosque in Q8 last week, supposed to visit not to pray but then came Maghreb time and went up with other ladies forgetting i had no socks with me. While praying a girl's Nokia rang and she shut it, then at the end while going down she approached me and said Sorry maybe you forgot or didn't know but you cannot pray with naked feet
I smiled and thanked her for input explaining that yes am new and not used much to pray in Mosque, but in my mind i wanted to tell her... :angre: :p

obviously its not acceptable and I think people should just leave their phones at home or in the car or at least switch it off b4 going into the mosque... but in the end people arent perfect and they tend to forget.

We are humans, and people do forget to switch of their mobile phones, obviously nobody does it by purpose and nobody really wishes to annoy the people praying as they would have not gone to the mosque from the very start if they did not respect the place. We can't do anything about it really, but maybe bored people with no so many manners should not call at improper times of the day.

I really think you can do alot about it but its not really in peoples mind. When anyone wants something oh boy they will make it happen. If they were sneaking in somewhere at home without parent....ect knowing it they will get 100000 million way to prevent such thing from happening. I really think this is a bad habit, sometimes it goes of un-intentionally but i think its out of human carelessness. For example in class, my phone NEVER, EVER went off because i'm always cautious and really want to respect the instrustor, and i expect from people to do the same.

Amo, ya they say its better to cover your feet, but there are some people like the girl you experienced with, pay attention to those small very itsy bitsy things and let the rest out! you forgot, didnt have it but who there to understand.

People really need to be aware, and consider others, i'm not trying to say they should be perfect and never forget cause we all do but eeh a little more effort would be great.

Why don't they just cut the network service there like they do in theaters?

(After saying that I realised how dumb we are to put it in a movie theater and not a mosque first, go figure!)

Muslims should learn that when they enter a mosque they are expected to talk to Allah only and not to the outside world using their mobile phones.

I heard about this as well I just can't understand why you take your Gsm to the masjid? I mean keep it at home or in the car unless you are expecting a very importnant call then at least keep it on silent.. But even if your got the call while praying would you cut your prayer to answer the call?

And what annoyes me the most is when some people call during prayer time. Like when my brother goes to pray he leaves his phone at home and you can hear that someone is calling non stop :duh: dont they know its prayers time?

Its dis-respectful and there should be warning signs or even guards who make sure that people turn off their phones

people in saudi arabia DO that!! they check for ur phones..
u should at least have the decency to put the phone on silent mode before entering the mosque!!
