First I don't know that this fits in the Islamic Sabla or not, but it is really fun and has a meaning...

If you don’t know, you have to know that the punishment of “Hirabah” means Piracy is to cut alternate hands and legs. The following is the proof:

Al-Maedah / Verse 33
“The only reward of those who make war upon Allah and His messenger and strive after corruption in the land will be that they will be killed or crucified, or have their hands and feet on alternate sides cut off, or will be expelled out of the land. Such will be their degradation in the world, and in the Hereafter theirs will be an awful doom;”

Here comes the point:
When Muslims concord Spain and establish the well known Islamic kingdom for around 300 years, (711-1000), they used to apply the Islamic punishment for piracy. They cut their hands and feet on alternate. And i you go back with your memory and try to recollect the image of pirates you will notice that all of them are without hands and feet. So pirates do place a hook in their hands and a wooden leg (Peg Leg) in the cutoff foot. And I think that when pirates go back to secrecies piracy, (I think that they used to take out one of their eyes!)

Do you see how the Muslims were these day? They were really ruling the land and sea. They were strong and honest. This is why they (Ruled The World!)

Here within I attached some photos of those pirates just to refresh your memory!

(Notice the “hands and feet on alternate”, typically what came in Islamic punishment for piracy! Wonderful!)

AP, Just imagine those Muslims who were real muslims, and did the job in the right way. This is how the real leadership of the world should be!

How was asking about Muslims?

The hat graduates put on their heads on the University is actually an Islamic tradition when students used to put the book of Quran on their heads to acknowledge that the knowledge they gained is actually from Allah, and Quran is the book that contains the most of knowledge for the best of our lives

Just another proof that Muslims were there first before any other nation…

More proofs are coming soon.

Are you saying that Islam was indeed spread by the sword. You seem to like the punishment and wish it could be brought back today so Muslims could rule the world like before. What does cutting people’s hands and feet off have anything to do with being honest?

Cutting people’s limbs off is Wonderful?? What happened to mercy and compassion? I didn’t see any in your post.

It is a very controversial issue. Because I think mercy and compassion doesn't always work....right? I mean, they might show mercy and compassion to a thief, but yet again he goes back to steal, knowing that they will show him mercy and compasion, at least for 2 or 3 times. Altho this punishment seems very harsh, yet I think it is very effective, at least it is more effective that always showing mercy or giving punishment that thieves 'can take'. Who on earth would think of stealing knowing that his hand would be cut if he did so? and who on earth would steal AGAIN if he looked at his either of his hands and remembers that one of them was gone because of an object that cannot compensate his lost his hand at the moment?

EDIT: one more point, I think you might point out that I might be saying that out of the fact that I haven't been in such a situation before, which is true. But I dont steal stuff, never did and never will; so I think I can talk from that point.
