Uncle-niece etc...), vary between cultures; incest is prohibited in probably every human culture. For most of us, incest is something wrong, and evil, but many parents – who commit this crime with their children-, claim to have enjoyed the act of incest and its physical and emotional consequences.


One of the famous incest victims is Raylene Zimmerman who was sexually victimized by her father resulting to the birth of a child 15 years ago.

Now why do you think some people have sexual intercourse with those who are closely related to them, and are prohibited to be married to? It cannot be only for the sake of enjoyment! :lost:

Do you think the child who was sexually abused would come over this problem and heal one day or even have the chance to forget?
Why do the incest victims choose to suffer in silence and never want to talk about this problem?

If the child or the sibling had such sexual relations by their choice, would it be called incest or adultery?

People do it because of their sexual needs cannot be controlled by them at times, these they prefer going for such things. I remember a friend of mine brought a newspaper while I was in Kenya, showing girl saying "Mama, why is uncle always sleeping over me" A 14 yo girl, I think the case still going on after the mother filed it against the step dad.

The child who is a victim of course cannot forget this, that easy, Its that child is scared even to bring up this to her mother, scared that something may happen between the parents, I mean if the child is good enough to think about it such reactions between the parents and matured a bit.

Well, I am not sure about my answer, but I think the sort of relation between two relatives would still be called incest, where adultery wouldn't be that way, although it falls in the same thing at the end which is having sexual intercourse.

However, I will place this in Social Problems Sabla. It will more suitable there!

Yeah it’s really sad when we find such crime in Oman. Mostly fathers rape their daughters whom get pregnant. And it's disgussted when you find many incest movies and stories available on the net etc..

Unfortunately, we have “such thing” in Oman. Some end in pregnancy and giving birth to more incest victims...

stuff like that happens often. in 'industrialized' countries, it happens because the parent is psychologically demented. in the arab/muslim world, these incidents occur cuz the parent is sexually oppressed.

I believe that this problem has allots of reasons but mainly I believe that following is main reasons and introductions to the sad event of incest:

1-Previous experiences in childhood (something like "done with me I do it with someone".

2-Porn movie watching, especially those with teens and kids.

3-Home nudity and careless dressing, due to the fact that there is no stranger at home.

4-Bed sharing between father daughter, mothered son , sister brother…etc.(Islam has forbidden sharing bed between sisters and brothers).

5-Non interactive social relations between families, (enclosed life system)

6-Illusions, related to death of wife, representing daughter as an alternative of wife.

7- Physical Overdeveloping of daughters and sons due to teenage ripeness, and father or mother carelessness or unawareness of such fact.

8-Extremenes in religious believes (in some religions gods do marry their mothers or daughters and vice versa).

9-Weak father mother sexual relations and shyness of father or mother to develop outside relations, so they try to release pressure in one of the family members (kids), because it is much easier and safer due to the ignorance of kids of the nature of this relation, because the originator of this relation is a father or a mother who is guaranteed rightness from the side of the kids (to believe that what my father or mother is doing is right).

10-Failuer of the parents to establish good relationship and trust with their children, so if one of the parents or brothers committed some kind of sexual harassment to one of the children of the family, he has no one to turn to, to tell about what happen, so most of the cases was discovered by chance or by a schoolteacher or a neighbor or a far relative of the family.

These were some of the reasons I think that are reasons and introductions to the sad event of incest

What are the Islamic laws with regards Incest ? I mean if the daughter or the mother give birth what is the status of the child ? And what are the Westeren laws with regrads Incest ?

EDITED... of COURSE you are attempting to be offensive.

Of course incest is horrible, I won't argue that it's a result of spiritual emptiness, but prove to me that it DOESN'T happen frequently in Islamic (or otherwise deeply religious) cultures ... at least WE encourage people to report it and punish the perpetrators, as well as treating the poor girls as victims, whereas it's more common in YOUR culture to KEEP THE SECRET, there's no support for victims even if they WANT to seek help, police won't get involved no one will help them ... in fact the poor girls are likely to be treated as wh@res than as victims!!! Tell me again how your side is so much more superior?
