If someone wants to come infront of me in a que then he/she will get a peice of my mind for sure , unless given a VERY good reason , cause we all have things to do in our life, but we all have to wait for our turn. its a matter or respect.

lol doesn't exist in any dictionary but sometimes depends on moments: nerves get up with the heat or the end of the day. Remember once queing at Carrefour, behind me there was a woman and a couple just came and stopped close to her just cause there was a crowd not really to jump a position: the lady started screaming like crazy :eyes: and these poor simply said sorry no need to be upset.
Sabirin, sabirin, we all should be :p

Personaly I blame the service providers which leads customers to break the rules. Last time I went to the bank and the place was crowded. There was only one lady in the casher section and many people waiting and annoyed by her delay in providing the service. Why they don't provide more people to serve the customers.

we do we always blame the system? i say the blame should be placed on both sides. what make you sure that ppl will que if there were more staff?

What makes people break a rule it's frustration due to following a poor system. If the system is good people will be happy to wait and follow the que.

Not necessarily. Ppl in Oman just don't see the point of queuing up. It really really pisses me off. I'm not blaming the system entirely but I think the solution lies with them. They should have proper queuing lines or a queuing system that everyone should follow; and those who don't queue don't get served until everyone in the queue's been served. Otherwise I don't see how this problem's ever gonna get sorted.

When I went to Oman a few months ago I arrived at the airport and was the 1st one queuing at passport control. This old Bahraini man and his son just jumped in front of me but I didn't say anything cuz he's a grown up and everything and wouldn't have taken long anyway. During this time a queue was forming behind me and the air stewards decided to form another queue right next to mine, even though there was only one counter. And sure enough once the old man left the British air stewardess jumped ahead of me and I gave her a look that could've killed her and turned her to ashes. How rude! And she comes from a place where ppl queue EVERYWHERE! But I stepped up to the counter anyway and the guy behind the counter sorted me out 1st. I just had to get that off my chest :shy:

this is one thing i hate in Oman i mean what gives a person a right to jump someone else that is obviously waiting to be served just like everyone else..and there is no such excuse 'oh i'm in a hurry' i mean arent we all!!??? i say just wait your turn instead of being rude

First of all it's not good to generalize because there are Omani people who want to be in order and maintain the que. Yes there are some people who are still not civilized and prefer to jump infront of others. I think the best thing is to use the numbering system where everyone given a number and wait for his/her trurn. This will teach those kind of people to wait and follow orders.

Blossom I'm not blaming the system entirely, however having reliable system also helps people to follow orders.

Well sor-ry but I haven't done a survey so I don't have the exact numbers of ppl who do queue up and those who don't. C'mon it's getting tiring having to explain that by making a comment like that no one's generalising. I was just referring to what I think the majority of ppl in Oman do.

I understand that you don't have a statistics but it's not right to say the majority without a valid survey. ;).

OK Mr.Ice 'don't generalise unless you've got statistics to back up your argument' Tea, I'll conduct a study to PROVE to you that the MAJORITY of Omanis do not in fact have the word 'queue' in their vocabulary so that you'll get off my back. Deal? :bang: :hyper: :kewl:

It's not just Oman, I think it's everywhere to a certain extent. People are pretty good about waiting their turn where I live, except in the example given that for instance you're in a grocery store and they open up a new register ... now if you think about it what is the polite thing to do? Of course, allow the person who has been waiting the longest to move to the new line .... but what usually happens is that people who JUST got in the back of the old line go racing for the open spot :fire: I especially hate it when someone jumps in front of me like that when I'm there all big and pregnant and tired-looking with my toddler along, like HELLO dont'cha think I want to get off my feet sometime this week?!

But on the other hand, there are nice people too who will let an old person, pregnant lady or someone with a couple of young kids go ahead so they can get out quickly, they are building good karma
