View Full Version : Pink & Blue!
hello
Few days back i was walking in town entered a shop and went to the kids sections, looking around..........
but something hit my mind, and kept thinking of this thing all the time.
The thing was a question and i couldt get an answer for it......so i thought of opening a thread and see may be u would know the answer......
As the majority knows that most of the kids cloth are classifed with their colours basiclly.......
And the most common colours are the Pink and Blue.....
so the question is:
Under what basise Did these 2 colours were classified to be Pink for[girls/female] and Blue[boys/male]?
Any one would know an answer for it?!!!:lost:

Waiting for ur replies

As far asi know, blue is for boys, pink is for girls and yellow is for both.
When and why did they choose those colours, I have no idea!

hehehe, but honestly I don't consider any colors to be masculine or feminine. I think thats absurd. I would rather die that wear yellow or orange.
I've read that before the early nineteen hundreds pink was for BOYS (being a lighter shade of red, red being associated with strength) and blue was for GIRLS (being a calm color).
And then the Nazi's in Germany associated pink for gay guys (because blue was associated with Mary; Christianity). So gay guys=feminine..... and so it was reversed!

So what you said and what MaterialBoy said does make sense! That explains why MaterialBoy likes pink:scratch:
P.S: MaterialBoy, did you watch yesterday's episode of Oprah? She interviewed Madonna!
