I noticed that some guys pray at the mosque during Friday only, what do you think the reason behind this?

long time ago I used to think that those are hypocrite's and make a big deal out of this ugly habit, BUT now I really think that they are at least doing something. I mean I think they are at least much better than those who don’t even go for Friday prayers. atleast they have that feeling of ya Friday prayer's is special, cause you never know maybe after these Friday prayer's only they will start praying the whole 5 prayers.

I don't agree with "Either we pray or we never" no one is perfect to be honest and sometimes those little things that people might think is wrong maybe the reason behind he's/her future will to perfection. (and this is not only for guy's but both gender's, like girl who only wear hijab in Ramadan, I say Alhamdulilaah and may god ease the way more for them, maybe they will improve as their Heart isn't that stoned...

yes they are wrong and it's bad BUT something is better then nothing.( I know some will come over this and say Islam is a whole package, you don't do this for that or you can't drop a rule and take another, but you should always always thank Allah for at least what you have and Will for improving).

And that's only what i think.

Same reason why some people only pray, read Quran and cover their hair during Ramadhan! ;)

This is so sad but true!

I know many guys who do that, but I never asked why... from what I can tell, that Friday is a holly day for the Muslims and they may think "atleast Friday"!!

Or, because they know when they pray Dhuhur prayer in the mosque on Fridays they get to pray it 2 rakaat only, not four, as how they would if they prayed it at home.

SIMPLE IS THAT.. week days they have work.. cant do it in the mosque :duh:

I am one of those who barely goes to the mosque, appart from the friday prayer. dunno why.. i just dont go to the mosque for the other prayers..unless i am at uni and its prayer time..then yeah.. i go to it.. otherwise.. i just pray at home. call me whatever u want.. but..at least i pray.. al7amdillah. will try to improve .. in time..inshallah. :)

Its better then not attending at all, and gradually they will Inshallah

what about when he is back from work? he can pray the asar, mughrib and isha at the mosque.

do they have work in the evening and at night as well? that is not an excuse.. and what about dawn prayers?

Laziness and carelessness. Its rare to find a guy who PRAYS much less does them in the mosque. I know they'll say that women can't talk because they don't have to do it but there lies the huge ajar for men. We women get it made up in other things like motherhood.

Sure...they'd get tired spending half an hour each day going to the mosque 5 times but they'd never get tired of their night duty at MQ every weekend or doing 5 hour rounds at City Centre :duh: (or wherever else they hang out these days).

what you said it so true.. the time they waste cruising around with their cars listening to music they could do much more better thing...

there is a masjid in front of our house and many times i would see guys at the time of ma'3rib prayers cruising around with cars instead of preparing to go to the masjid and pray.

yes they have to pray each prayer in the masjid if they are free and can go. get tired? how can you say that. praying is one of things that a Muslim should enjoy doing, its one of the time where you feel that you are very close to Allah sub7anahu wa ta3ala...

in the old days ppl used to compete who does the most good deeds in life like praying, paying zakat and 9adaqat and helping out the poor. these days ppl compete on who listens more to music and who knows the latest songs and memorizes them.. :sorry:

anyways.. its not a MUST to pray the daily prayers in the mosque. if u want more ajar (good deeds) then u can go. as long as one prays 5 prayers..then thats is good enough.

anyways.. i dont think people should judge others..u never know whats going on in people's lives , how busy they are and what are the circumstances that prevent them from going.

no one is judging anyone but one should always do his/her best to do good deeds and praying is one of them. one should try his best no matter what and no matter how busy they are...

the same goes to girls who don't pray when its their wedding night and girls who attend weddings..

as they are busy since morning with preparing for the wedding, doing their hair and makeup then go to the wedding early so they can get good seats without thinking of praying 3ishaa prayers...

You're right. No one's got the right to judge others. Maybe the person who prays all 5 prayers in a mosque does worse deeds than someone who doesn't. But saying that someone's too busy to regularly pray in the mosque...busy doing what? Sleeping during fajr? Napping during thuhur? There are mosques everywhere. I doubt it'll take more than 15mins to go pray in a mosque and get back to whatever someone was doing.

The majority of ppl who don't regularly pray in mosques cannot be busy 24/7. Even if they are I'm sure they take breaks from working every few hours or so. Is it not possible to time these breaks to coincide with the time for prayers? If someone only performed one of the prayers at home cuz they're too busy then that's understandable. But saying that they're too busy all week to perform even most of the prayers in the mosque is just making excuses.

Do u girls go to the Mosque ? Regularly ?

If you guys don't interact with guys around you in the Mosque, you better not go to Mosque. Praying in the Mosque is for making your neighborhood a harmonious one. :help:

At the Prophet PBUH time there was this old and blind man (His name Um Maktoom)who asked the prophet to excuse him from going to the mosque to pray because he is old/blind man and the the risk of wild animals is available. What did the prophet told him, he said what it means, do you hear the call of the prayer? Um Maktoom said yes, the prophet Mohammed PBUH said to him then answer the call because I can't find an excuse for you!!

Some poeple will say we are busy with work, lectures, etc. Is there a comparison between Um Maktoom case and such exuses?
