A lot of Oman politics and laws are unfair because it is made up by the people who will benefit from it the most. And even if they don't benefit from it, they can bend it to the necessary degree that will yield a satisfactory outcome. I love my country Oman, but it's sad that some laws are meant for some and others have the benefit to manipulate it. Corruption is all around the world, but the aristocrats in Oman abuse the fact that they have it.

In reply to Tom’s post, I very much agree with him, but I’d like to add some of my thoughts as well.

I think when it comes to political powers and implementing laws in Oman, there are several things which I think should be changed for the sake of the country and the people, I cant be anymore specific regarding this issue since that It’s not my type of field, but I’ll give you an example of what is happening in Oman right now.

Abusive use of power exists in almost every government sector, and that obviously affects the people’s rights, and it is as well the wrong why to practice politics, but things have been changing I believe, but in a very slow period of time, changes are accruing when a younger generation of politics minded youth is getting higher level jobs in ministries and other government sectors.

I still have high hopes for a better Oman, and no matter what happens, Oman is still the Jewel of Arabia. http://www.omania.net/evip/ubb/wink.gif

Well Tom said that a lot of Oman politics and laws are unfair !!! My question is,, is there anything in the country that contaisn fairness??? . Many things that are happening here has no fairness at all . But what could possibly be done ? The rich person remains rish as the poor remins poor .

Talking about Politics and Laws ... well I have a story about that . Its actually about a memeber of my family. The story goes like this ... A female being more satisfied "its my mother " She had a land somewhere in Al athaiba about 3 to 4 years back . What happend is that she bought the land from someone he sold it to her can't remember how much was the prize ... but later on my mother found out that the guy was actually cheating on her . SO the case actually reached the cort ... but as you know laws in Oman are always with guys ... they tried so much to prove my mother that she is wrong . Well the guy had lots of wasta.. and known lots of big ppl ... in the other hand my mother didn't know anyone excapt my auncle "who happens to be her brother " as he is the lawyer of the famly . Becuase he was very good at his job ... and knew what he was doing my mother was paid back alll her money which was i think was about 25000 R.O

That was just an example that actually the laws are not fair at all in oman .. well that was only one example ..as there are so many out there .
