The gator thing is not that big a deal. How long after you were bitten by the rattler did you get the antivenom injection? Where did it bite you? I have a few rattlers knocking around my backyard, and I leave them well enough alone. Africa sounds fun. Here we just have cayotes and bobcats. They seem to find it fascinating to watch me jogging.
