I have the mcafee Virusscan and I have been trying to download the mcafee firewall from different sites , but either the file is courrpted or the version is expired. Do you have any recommendations of the best firewall to use ?

This is one of the more popular firewalls used.

It can create some issues with email and FTP, but all firewalls can.

And here is a ton of them.

I've been using Zone Alarm for a few years. It's simple and it works.

A good router or a good Linux box ...

but if that's too rich for your blood ... there is always Zone Alarm 5 ... also Service Pack 2 for Windows XP will have a pretty decent built in one (an update from its old firewall):

SP2 will be out end of next month according to MS.

Pretender said it. If you have an old computer lying around then here's a fun project: SmoothWall (http://www.smoothwall.org/)

Well SP2 of windows is already officially out.
The built in firewall is probably the easiest to use for normal users.
