Why people advocate Agnosticism/Atheism?

It is quite simple:

i. Atheists do not believe in a God or gods;

ii. Agnostics do not know whether they believe in a God/gods or not.

In many - but not all - cases, Atheists and Agnostics have been brought up with some dogmatic belief system which has lost its credibility and ceased to be plausible.

Some people also call themselves agnostic when they think there is probably a god, but don't pretend to know the nature of god, or have uncertainty about what they want to believe.

These people might be more properly called "theists".

Because belief in gods has caused humans more harm than good.

Belief in GODDESSES, however, is a different story :D

Its not the 'belief' itself its they way they transfer their belief into actions or misinterpret things.

No, if a group believes that their gods want them to make human sacrifices, or stone people for offences, or occupy a land, then that is quite clearly straight from the belief.

Like killing apostates in Islam. You aren't claiming that is a misinterpretation, are you ?
