I believe The Holy Bible has been grossly distorted and misinterpreted, but not by Christians or Jews.

Wallahy amo you are one of the few who read my mind. Even with his quick wit Shino can not see beyond his horizon.

Was it not in the name of the so called Bible / New (!) Testamente 'our' region has never known the real meaning of 'PEACE' & and profound 'STABILITY' ?

In the name of that obscure Holy Book people have deliberately or otherwise "Been Promised To Occupy" other peoples' Land and been allowed to :

1. Plot

2. Mass killing. That includes pregnant mothers, children and the Olds.

3. Carry out assassinations of The Opposition / s

4. Demolishing homes

5. Use of accessive military force against The Un-Armed

6. Indisciminate killing of protesters by use of live ammunitions against un-Armed protesters

7. Shooting to kill journalists

Violation and mockery of the United Nations Organisation and yet claim to be a member of the International Body

Betray and Double-Cross, Violation of Agreements and Disrespect of Signature purpoted to be a 'promise' for goodwill.

etc etc

All that in the Name of THE HOLY BOOK called THE BIBLE's PROMISE of a Homeland of THE CHILDREN OF god.

Yet we have 'geniouses' on Board with self-styled beliefs that negates the presence of Creator 4we creatures. How come ?

I am only interested in politics as a student of 'ballitical science'.

It has been made too dificulty for moi to cross line between these two inter-related behaviour of the talking animals.

:gap:

So in order not to aggravate hatrage between beliefs I decided to accommodate this particular tobic in political forum. I do not feel strongly where it stays but rather prefer it is homed there than here.

People have always made up excuses to fight for what they want. Before the Jews, maybe it didn't have the religious overtones, that's all. Certainly there's not a darn thing in the NT that promises the Christians anything, but that didn't stop the stinking hordes from descending on Jerusalem...

Seems like the ME issue would be a lot easier without COMPETING holy book "promises" though ...

A logic argument.

But the question is. Was the Bible misinterpreted ? We should take into account the clarity of the message to understand what was exactly 'promised'

Holy Beliefs could remain in situ as long as no one makes a violent move against the life of the other.

Why do you want to talk about the Bible, there isn't anyone here who knows anything about the New or the Old testament. ALthough i could make up some stuff if you like, and Wandy would respond ASAP!

The Crusades were expeditions undertaken, in fulfilment of a solemn vow, to deliver the Holy Places from Mohammedan tyranny. (No mention of BO)

The origin of the word may be traced to the cross made of cloth and worn as a badge on the outer garment of those who took part in these enterprises. Since the Middle Ages the meaning of the word crusade has been extended to include all wars undertaken in pursuance of a vow, and directed against infidels, i.e. against Mohammedans, pagans, heretics, or those under the ban of excommunication
