ok, do Jewish men or women have certain dressing code??

what I mean here .. are women not allowed to wear revealing clothing or something like that, and are jewish men supposed to wear the little small cap?

Yes, women follow a dress code of modesty.
These are the proper standards of dress:

Starting from the age of three, elbows and legs should be covered. Blouses must cover the collarbone. Sleeves must cover the elbows at all times, even when the hand is raised. Skirts must cover knees completely, even while sitting. Materials may not be see-through (caution must be taken with light summer shirts). Clothes may not be tight-fitting, provocative, or loud in color. All slits in skirts must be closed.

Yes, Jewish men wear a skullcap, known as a yarmulke.

thanks both of you for the very educative seminar sessions. this gives a booster to what I told moon the other day about all religions comes from the one almighty God (Allah). Or that what I beleive in .

I also would like to share an incident that happened to me abroad. I worked in a casualty departement one evening when a recently syncoped old lady brought in to the resus area , just after her waking up , she saw me & asked : where am I ? we told her that she was in the hosp. she said why is there a nun here??
everbody smiled, but I was joyed because that exactly what I keept convinsing people with: we have identicle beleifs , but some of us ignore them. any way I told her that she is still with us , not yet to heaven... all loughed.

keep on the good work & thanks again.

well, it's true that there are similarities
but anyone studying them can see numerous fundamental differences too

BTW, the purpose of the Jewish head covering is to demonstrate the concept of bittul, which is Hebrew for submission to the Creator--that we are aware of His presence over us at all times.

I never knew that! It sounds so ... respectful. :)

And the reason Jewish women are not obligated to wear a skullcap is because they are inherently more spiritually aware and don't need this extra measure to instill fear of the Creator.

I think it is super that we have threads that discuss different religions and learn about them, rather than threads that bash each others religions. Thanks you.

Yep, that's the Jewish tradition! In fact, we made modesty fashionable!
