CHRISTIANS CONFESS

Dr. W. Graham Scroggie of the MOODY BIBLE INSTITUTE, Chicago, one of the most prestigious Christian Evangelical Mission in the world, answering the question — "Is the Bible the Word of God?" (also the title of his book), under the heading: IT IS HUMAN, YET DIVINE. He says on page 17:

"Yes, the Bible is human, though some, out of zeal which is not according to knowledge, 1 have denied this. Those books have passed through the minds of men, are written in the language of men, were penned by the hands of men, and bear in their style the characteristics of men." (Emphasis added).

Another erudite Christian scholar, Kenneth Cragg, the Anglican Bishop of Jerusalem, says on page 277 of his book, "The Call of the Minaret":

"Not so the New Testament . . . There is condensation and editing; there is choice, reproduction and witness. The Gospels have come through the mind of the Church behind the authors. They represent experience and history."

If words have any meaning, do we need to add another word of comment to prove our case? No! But the professional propagandists, after letting the cat out of the bag, still have the face to try to make their readers believe that they have proved beyond the shadow of any doubt that the Bible is the "irrefragable 6 Word of God." Their semantic gymnastics — equivocating, and playing with words — is amazing!

 Oh, PLEASE.

Listen REAL CAREFULLY.

Unlike Muslim claims about the Quran, The Old and New Testaments were NEVER CLAIMED TO BE REVEALED TEXTS.

OK, clear now?

It's no secret that they are written-down versions of oral traditions, then memoirs and letters of the disciples.

There is some disagreement as to how to appropriately translate and update the language from orginial Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek to all the modern languages of the world - and the main sects have some disagreement about whether or not to include certain texts.

BUT SINCE THERE WAS NO DICTATION BY GOD, WILL YOU GIVE UP ON THE CORRUPTION BUSINESS ALREADY????!!!!!

How do you ask such thing if the Quran is saying so, and the source of all books are from Allah. Therefore if there is a contradiction between the Quran and the Bible, etc. then it means there is a corruption in previous books as the Quran is the last God books same as prophet Mpahmmed PBUH is the seal of previous prophets.

I am sorry MoonChild, maybe the Bible is not a dictation by God, but the Quran surely is!

The Quran is not a bibliography of Prophet Mohammed (pbuh) but the Word of Allah (God) only and nobody else... not even Prophet Mohammed's (pbuh).

What follows this sentence should be dealt with a benifit of doubt ...

The only person who could hear Allah was Muhammad, rite?

What if Mr. Muhammad himself made all of it up? I remember participating in a thread ages ago (started by Moonchild) where one researcher dug up some fact to prove that Muhammad hallucinated once in a while.

Once again ... I'm just brain storming and mean no insult on anyone! :)

Dear Shinoda LP,

We believe 4 books were REVEALED.
We believe Qur’an is last and final.
We believe Prophet Muhammad (Pbuh) is the last messenger from Allah.
Please note common words here “We” “believe”
Who are this we?
Muslims,
follower of Islam.
Ok
Now Believe.
It is conceptual.
It is faith.
It is something inner conviction.
There is no doubt about this in Muslim.
Lady Moon Child agreed that among the Christian they have disagreement about the text and finally she said that the Bible was not revealed. There is no disagreement among the whole Muslim with the text of Holly Qur’an and no change you will find all over the world.
So, you can understand, we evaluate the whole concept from different vision and based on our faith we declare that ours one is best.

Exactly, my friend. The BIBLE was not dictated by God, so there IS NO "ORIGINAL" to be "corrupted".

That is, there is no basis of comparison between the Quran as a "dictated message" and the Bible as the "history and memoirs" of the Jews and Disciples.

portions of Boss's post and signature line (now deleted) essentially said "how dare you Christians corrupt God's word". In my opinion, his anger is based on the false idea that there was at one point, some "original" that God put his stamp of approval on, that was later changed by evil men - and this is simply wrong.

So, if the bible isn't God sent... then why is it considered holy? :os

Actually, I stand corrected... as I was skimming through radio stations, I happened to hear a preacher claiming that the Bible really IS handed down word-for-word from God.

I doubt he could answer any of the questions you and I have about versions and contradictions, though ;). Most of that "type" tend to stomp around, get in your face to scare you, and call you a deviant devil-sent non-believer, in order to avoid actually answering tough questions :color:

The best answer I can give you as a non-Christian (who lived in the company of Christians for many years), is that the Bible was "inspired" by God, that even though men were writing their histories and memories of events, that God was guiding them as they wrote ... similar for the Letters, they pretty much HAVE to believe that the early Church fathers were acting under the guidance of God or the religion would be shot to ****...

Christians Confess

Muslims Perjure?!

Erm...has anyone ever seen a copy of the Qur'An written before about, say 1200AD (or if you like, before about 600h)? I doubt it. And if you did I very much doubt you'd be able to read it either.

Men are men, whatever their religion. And their leaders are good and bad.
