When prisoners comes out from jail they should have learn something to help them out
for the new step in they lifes.
Why our jails its just somewere to eat dal and sleep.
they must be some prisoners want to study or learn a job or skill like carpenter,mechanic,farmer,etc.
so when they come out at least they are a little better person.
but that wont happpen iv been told reasones is no budget.
now instead of bulding nonsense stuff like a huge roundbout with huge i dont know gods what and you know what otheres unreal staff.

hi there..
i really don't know what to say but last night i saw a programm in TV about American prisons and i was shocked of the way they treat people there...
the problem now..i think american people care alot about what is going on...but omani people don't even know how the jail looks like in Oman...i heard about the food and dal but i don't know how the police treat prisoners.....
i guess that would be solved if we can involve more with the government and if we know more about our country...

I believe that everything that is happening in Muscat .. they try there level best to keep thingsbetween them selfs . If you come to notice ... years back ... they never used to show the drug delers on newspapers .. nither did they talk about crimes thats happening in town . But I believe the reason which made them talk about it in Public now its becuase things are becoming worse .

Talking about Jails in Oman . WHat you have just said "No Fear" is very true . Those prisoers, when ita time for them to come out from jail ... you just feel that they have not learnt anything . Not like jails In the USA as "Safa" said. The way they treat the prisoners down there is way much different than here . And again as "Safa" said .. that we don;t evern know how does the Jail here in Oman looks like . They should be open .. try to show ppl how things are going on in thier ... unless they know that they are doing bad things which they don't want ppl to know!!!!

I know that many ppl get abused while being in prison . I am not sure whats excatly happening in thos jails over here . I just hope it doesn reach to that extend . I know that we do have lots of bad things happening in oman but most of the things are not in Public .. its just Under cover .

well, i have been at Rumais prison a couple of times, NOT as a prisoner, i just tagged along with my father who used to work there. and i saw the prisoners, face to face, in their cells, wearing a vest and wizar. it gets hot in the cells thats why they wear that. they do have these big generators that give out electricity to the whole area, the day i went there, the generator seemed to have a problem and was not working. the generator was fixed eventually but it kept on cutting for the weeks to come. its old, over 20 years old. anyway, about the cells they have 2 different cells for 2 different sentences. long time and short time. the ppl at long time are taken care more. they also have a special place for ppl with aids. the prisoners don't stay the whole day just staring at the sun, they have different activities such as carpentry, farming, weaving for women, etc. some prisoners take the prison a change to memorize the Holy Quran. each prisoner is given a different color ribbon sewed on their shoulder, each color represents their crime. thats what i remember when i went there, oh yeah one more thing, the prison is not mixed (men and women) http://www.omania.net/evip/ubb/smile.gif

i was at one of our so called hospitals the other day and i saw a prisoner with a policeman , he was waiting to see a doctor , he was handcuffed , although he was like 50 years old and in no situation to run anywhere , but he seemed to be ok. the policeman was very nice to him , although i felt bad for the prisoner , you know with everyone staring at him , a habit we do soooo well in this country!!!

Well all the Prisons around the world are the same not only in Oman,,,,about the USA i think the worst prisons are there b/c in every prison like 85% of the prisoners are sick with Aids and most of them when they go out after 2 or 3 months go again to the jail,,,in my opinion we are better in jails and our prisoners are more polite than any prisoner in many big countries http://www.omania.net/evip/ubb/smile.gif

unfortunatly, you all trying to support each othter, but you never thought what had these prisoners done to take them to the jail, thanks God that our prisons are likely to US prisons, then you all know that we are in deep troubles. However; do you know that the prisoners had done alot of things like killing or destroying person life or family or even society.next time try to give differnt ideas and thoughts to each other instead. many thanks and sorry for the spelling mistakes.
