This is basically an example of how people who do not know anything will find contradictions in it. To reply to some:

The answer is no. In Matthew, Jesus compares John to Elijah, but in no way does Jesus it that John is Elijah in a literal sense.

Again, this is a misunderstanding of the use of the lineage of Jesus in both Matthew and Luke. All Gospel writers, it should be noted, agree that Jesus is the inheritor of David's throne. The lineage has theological than literal meanings: in Matthew Jesus is shown to be a Jew's Jew, one who is obedient to the Law, as opposed to the Pharisees. In Luke Jesus is presented as the one who is God made man, the Emmanuel, as shown later.


37. How did Simon Peter find out that Jesus was the Christ?

By a revelation from heaven (Matthew 16:17)
His brother Andrew told him (John 1:41)

Again, if one does not know what he's talking about, he'll naturally be confused. In Matthew 16 all of the Disciples know Him to be the Messiah; even most Jews at that point are willing to accept Him as the Messiah. However, in Matthew 16 Jesus takes the point one step further: Who is He really? To which Peter answered that He is the Christ, the Son of God--a title that transcends merely being Messiah to one being higher than it, practically akin to God, which indeed Jesus reveals later in John 8.


54. Did Jesus ascend to Paradise the same day of the crucifixion?
Yes. He said to the thief who defended him, “Today you will be with me in Paradise” (Luke 23:43)
No. He said to Mary Magdelene two days later, “I have not yet ascended to the Father” (John 20:17)

In both cases, no. Even in Luke He has not ascended yet until 40 days later. Jesus made a promise to the thief in Luke, a promise which He fulfilled later in the Ascencion 40 days later.

So again, there are the answers. Funny how people will try to keep hitting, but continually miss.

The Muslim community pretends that the Jewish and Christian Bibles have been corrupted and also that they have been abolished by God in favour of their book.

There is in fact no basis for alleging the corruption of the Bible where it disagrees with the Quran except in the desire of the Moslems to justify themselves.

The Jewish and Christian people are mutually exclusive and no sane man can allege a conspiracy between them. However, for either or both of these communities to amend their Bibles, would require nothing less than the connivance of the other community, as much as absolute internal non-objection…

If the Jews had corrupted their version of the Bible, their enemies the Samaritans and the Christians would have happily pounced upon their effort. Again, if the Christians had attempted it, the Jews would have happily pounced upon their effort.

That there has been no protest is evidence of the falseness of this claim.

Further, the claim to Godhood by Jesus Christ is witnessed to not only by the Christians in their Bible, but also by the Jews in their Para-Scriptures - the Talmud, wherein they witness that they had murdered Jesus because of His claim to being God, and further claim that He is now in Hell, in the greatest of torments!

The alleged abrogation of the Bible is to be dismissed as being patently false and destructive of Divine Revelation. As a matter of fact, it is evident from a study of the Quran that the only abrogation it teaches of is of parts of the Quran itself! (see Shinoda´s link).

what do you say regarding Islam teaching it's followers to believe sacred books that preceeded the Holy Qur`An ? and in my opinion which I believe is the opinion of all muslims that the changes that are being added or removed from bible is the business of the followers of that book. But as a believer I would hardly believe modern interpretation of what is purported to be a word of god.
