I was wandering why when a woman fast during Ramadhan, she is not supposed to wear any light make-up? I am not talking about anything heavy, but even a bit of khol under her eyes or some light gloss on her dry lips?
If this can break someone's fast, then wouldn't it be logical to say that we shouldn't use any body cream, deodorant or other cosmetic products either?

When fasting, you are supposed to look as modest as possible.
Many women decide not to apply make up (as in eye shadow- lipstick-blusher) because it is a form of attraction and women should dress and be modest in ramdhan (and also on all days).
However, you question regarding kohol, I have found this on the net:
Question :
Do kohl and creams used by a woman during the day break her fast?.
Answer :
Praise be to Allaah.
If a person applies kohl during the day in Ramadaan whilst fasting, that does not invalidate the fast, but if he feels a trace of it in his throat then to be on the safe side he should make up that fast. It is better not to use kohl during the day when fasting.
If a person applies oil or cream to his hair during the day in Ramadaan when fasting, that does not invalidate his fast.
And Allaah is the Source of strength. May Allaah send blessings and peace upon our Prophet Muhammad and upon his family and companions.

This is another fatwa in arabic (for those who read arabic .. sorry x-press)
but it generally says that you are allowed to put kohol and perfumes as long as you dont go out and attract forigen (non mahram) men.
Shiekh Khalili Fatwa on kohol (http://www.almajara.com/article.php?sid=3142)
I find the khol a source of attraction and no point of putting it. And for the dry lips the lady can put come sort of cream as a moisture.
Therefore it's recommended for the lady to stay away from gray areas and concentrate on her fasting during this holy month. The last thing a lady wants to do is to be a reason for breaking some people fasting.

Kohl is 7alal. It is probably the only cosmetic product that is allowed. Whether you consider it a source of attraction or not Allah SWT allowed it. :)
As for dry lips all's you need is chapstick ;)

Thanks Arby for your helful informations which I take note.
Icy, if I put a very thin line of kohl (or mascara) under my eyes, it is not because I intend to break someone fast, but simply because I don't feel confortable going out without it.
The same, I can decide to put a lightly sented cream on my body to avoid dry skin and this not to attract a man's attention, but because it please me only to put this cream instead of unsented vaseline.
I believe a fasting man can be more attracted by a woman's abbaya or by the way her scarf is tied around her face, than by the black line under her eye.
In some cases, we might not be the cause of a man desire to break his fast, but the fault lays on the man himself who is too quickly turn on by something as thin as a black line!
Not sure if anyone share the same opinion.

I dont c whats wrong with wearing light make-up but i know for a fact that kohl does not stop a womens fasting in anyway
Icy '3ith il nathir !
I agree with Enigma..kohl is not forbidden in Islam ..so i think itz not 7araam if we put kohl while we're fasting
