View Full Version : Waraqa bin Naufal
Narrated 'Aisha
The Prophet returned to Khadija while his heart was beating rapidly. She took him to Waraqa bin Naufal who was a Christian convert and used to read the Gospels in Arabic Waraqa asked (the Prophet), "What do you see?" When he told him, Waraqa said, "That is the same angel whom Allah sent to the Prophet) Moses. Should I live till you receive the Divine Message, I will support you strongly."
From above 'hadith':
1. The Gospels was written in arabic.
2. Waraqa knows that some signs already there in the previous books about a new profet will come and that is why he said "I will support you strongly".

1- it could have been translated!! Aisha didnt say that it was origionaly was written in arabic, but that Warqa was reading an arabic book!
2- that what me and u and muslims beleive .. you cant bring a hadith (something that non-muslims dont beleive in) as a proof to them that it is indeed in thier book that Prophet Mohammed would come!!

Yes possible but remember some of them before said that the Quran was not writting in arabic in the begining. Then how come the Gospels was in arabic and it's before the Quran.

Well this just proves that their books changed becasue Warqa was a Christian so he knows what the original books was like.
Arabian Princess 01-11-03, 01:31 PM the thing is ice tea, its not a proof .. its a proof to us .. but not to them!
AP, it's up to them if they want to take it as prove or not, our job is to face them with the facts. But do you expect them to accept their mistakes and change their beliefs easly which been taught to follow?
Arabian Princess 01-11-03, 01:48 PM Ice Tea, if I brought u the bible, and told you that Jesus is indeed the son of god, would you beleive it?
NO because you dont beleive in the current bible.
Same with them, they dont consider Quran as the last book, it is not considered a "valid fact" to them.
you want to prove a point to them, use thier language not yourselfs. this is my point.
If you want to use their langauge then let them first bring their origianl langauge.

I won't call it a light rather a darkness, which you are hiding yourself in.
sanwin25 04-11-03, 04:56 PM Why are you saying that AP is living in darkness ?
Arabian Princess 05-11-03, 10:59 AM what do you think Ice Tea?? do I live in darkness?
I think you are living in the light of Islam AP ;)
Milliardo Peacecraft 05-11-03, 12:10 PM Teabag, if she's living in the light of Islam, then why don't you agree with her? Or is your light different from hers?
Miranda, Agree with her about what?
And light of Islam is one light enough for everyone including you.

Would that be the light you borrowed from Christianity?
The New Testament was written in Aramaic and Greek, the earlier books in Aramaic, the later books in Greek for their intended original audiences.
