How about sending it to Sharoun as well to add his comments.

Well people!
As you all know politics is a dirty game infact dirtier than your average underwear. My statement will be hard hiting and ofcourse baring it all [lock, stock and barel] therefore I urge you to be pataint a few more days while the nuding, trading, lobbying, jostling and compromising takes place outside the political arena and before the final bout.
No DS I do NOT send my writings for proof reading. I am a one man orchestra who does the thinking-writing-composing-conducting of my music and I am responsible for what I say and write. Therefore, it is imperative for me to weigh the pros and cons of my public uterances.

I am not going to go into arguing about the contradictions embodied in your notes two paragraphs.
However, I wish you highlight the fact that as a young man I find the waiting time too long. We are in the age of speed and information highway, which means 'waiting' costs us money, as the old saying says "time is gold" and gold is money.
This what I want to say.
It has been some times since the idea of the OTT was hatched. Some people came forward genuinely to partake and contribute. But most people stayed away. I wonder why? Could it be the fear factor or could it be indifference to what happens around them??? As I said before I prepared a memorandum to hand it to the Monarch. But those surrounding him wont let me. I am a single person and it is hard to accomplish all on my own. I really wanted the Omani intellectuals to get together with me and push for the recieval of the memorandum.
I pasted a news item concerning the kingdom of Saudi Arabia in another thread and let me pick a few lines from there to refresh your memory where 300 Saudi intellectuals including 51 women presented a petition the Crown prince. [ Petitioners are worried Saudi Arabia is a breeding ground for extremists
A number of women in Saudi Arabia have signed a petition calling for radical reform to tackle growing extremist Islamic influence in the country.
The document, signed by more than 300 people including 51 women, was handed in to Crown Prince Abdullah.
Called "In Defence of the Nation", it highlights the absence of popular participation in decision-making.
Critics say this lack makes the kingdom a breeding ground for extremists. ]]
The document was received and I am sure will be acted upon fast, cause that is WHAT the people want. Now are we, Omanies less men, rather less brave, than the Saudis? Do they have 4 balls and we, a single one? Are we that gutless, Not to present our case to Mawlana The Sultan?
Or, have we decided to whine and moan forever and gossip in coffee shops and let it be. What... ..is in the memorandum anyway? All we are asking is REFORM. Reform what? well, Reform the Adminstrative and economic polices of the nation for the citizen to enjoy fruits of his labour peacefully. Enable the citizen to benefit from the God given natural resources the sultanate abounds with and live a decent and hassle free life.
My point here is, Omani intellectuals are NOT coming forward willingly to further the cause of the OTT. What they are doing is throw few words of support here and there while hiding behind a veil, like a Mesopotamian virgin. No sir, we can’t achieve anything by operating that way. We need to come forward and be seen and heard in the OPEN. We need to emulate 2 gentlemen [said bin sultan Al Hashmy who wrote openly about an Omani Think-Tank in a government newspaper and Hosam Al Rawahi who talked frankly and freely about the elections in government radio.]
Now if only the morons surrounding Mawlana His Majesty The Sultan could reflect back on history and ask themselves as why the Vikings of the Nordic sea were defeated once for all and why the Bastilles was stormed during the French revolution or as why the Bolsheviks toppled the Romanov’s, they would have allowed the petition born by Mti the fisherman to reach our beloved Monarch. But they don’t, for the simple reason they don’t understand what it is all about as they pass their days browsing through some fancy magazines.
Now let me address myself to the fear factor that engulfs you all. Remember that all we are doing is express our opinions, that is what you call freedom of expression [within the framework of the basic law that antagonizes no one] and freedom of speech is allowed and enshrined in the basic law as long as it is not destructive. So what is it that you fear? We haven’t got a single political detainee as of today and Mti will not be the first one or you the second one. So, come forward and identify yourself with me and we gang up and re present the petition together! This is for the common good of all society and humanity in general.
This is for starters…. I will give you more as the main course and desert, thereafter hence for now I rest my case.
DS............make sure you do not joke around on this grave matter as it an issue of national importance.

My dear Mti I sympathise with your 'efforts' in preparing the note. I think for one to write a lengthy note according to our culture means the guys is somehow serious about things and since it is something of national concerned you must be a some kind of 'muwat`en ghayoor'. I salute your concern.
In my opinion, however, I see in you an educated, knowledgeable muwat`en whose potentials one way or another are wasted, but unintentional.
Indeed there are venues in your note that which are a ground for jocking but you are serious and I am not going to explore them. A good advice for someone deserving why don't you PM me and I could advise you how not to become frustrated and wash your laundry in public ?
Beside this OTT is something which has not been considered carefully by yourself. The idea in principle is not a bad one but there are rules which you have probably not given much thought on and for which the proposal can not be readily accepted. Think of the existing chambers that performs exactly what an OTT would. To answer some of the reasons you have given the system that prevails at the moment is your ability to vote or contend for the Majlis al -Shura. I think they would encourage intellectuals as are those elsewhere in the dministration already.
Well DS, I will tell you this, it WON'T be my dirty linen that will be washed in public but of the moron lot that puts obstacles in my way.

That’s what we do normally when we hear a good speech. I am not pessimistic but some how optimistic to have lived and see an Omani fellow citizen have not 4 but 6 balls to express freely and I believe that these forums (specially politics) are been watched and people at high level (officials) reads its context.
I think you have in some what sent your message to the ones concern unless the ISS system ( CID) is as dull as its people who piping in peoples houses and listening to phone conversation instead informing him of the real reality and situation of 309,000 Sq.K country with less than 2.5 million people half almost are none citizen and the poverty has reached its highest in some parts of the country ( eh what about the loans for individuals) who owns the banks ???
This topic needs focusing. I will reply in depth in few days.
A MESSAGE TO THE HIGH LEVEL MEMBERS OF OMANI GOV"T>>>>>>
"Let my people go!!!"
"Give me freedom or give a BIG MAC with fries!"
"Freedom to choose ones leaders is a birth given right by all humans"
The people of Oman need more drive-in dry cleaners!!!

Yes.................this forum and and all other media is read by the intelligence department but the thing is, they are bloody low level individuals who are ineffective, uncomprehending, with narrow scope of knowledge who pass over their compiled report to their section heads [ intelligence analysts ] who in turn, by the end of the day, consign our points to the old files to be filled as of "no consquence" hence obscurity.
Had we had Oxford/Cambridge/Harvard educated officers over there, it will have made an impact for good or worse but what do you excpect of a moron, who is a primary school dropout and has made his way up through WASTA???
Nonetheless our struglle is a persistant one , based on truth and fair justice, for any small timer to thwart it.
I rest my case.

I am having this sore throat and fever. My whole body is aching, my back, my legs and the light from the screen is causing some restless because of flu. It's not hiding believe me. What should I hide from and why ?
Believe me, I have been thinking of your above post specifically the 'balls' what has balls got to do with matters of national interest ? this is a free country women imancipation so 2speak. Beside we are a very islamic conservative society that exported Islam beyound our bondaries. In fact the only Arabs who conqured and established empire beside those of Great Britain, Japan etc. The mentioning of balls is somehow unfair, it is biasism motivated.
I rest my case

Tell Bush that. That Palestinians chose Abu Ammar so he Bush sould SHUT up his lower jaw when it comes to choosing who should lead the Palestinians. Tell Blair and WARN Shahron, Bush/Blairs' master voice, to mind his limitations as I can see that he is right now exceeding his limitations. Tell Shahron there are always limitations that he can not ignore.
Dark Project 10-10-03, 10:11 PM D-S and mti what’s up with this I rest my case thing :) ..
No the case can never be rested at all as long as we are forced to follow like sheep’s and to sing along like parrots .
Mti , I liked your reply on my questions and D-S you have connected both cases and made it the prime one which is the main player is behind curtains .We on the other hand are knocking one another’s head for solution whereby things have already been planned and we still look for the answer .Isn’t it ironic ?
Just wait and retaliate .
DS
You are back to your old habit of "perinial joking" which tuely iritates me and God know as why you do that. Here we are....... dicussing issues of national importance, and YOU try to derail and divert the topic by intoducing a stupid angle to it with analysis of balls and where they belong. I pity you!
I to the contrary, am, a dead serious person in whatever I do, and it sickens me when somone introduces stupid jokes rather than ponder of the core issue at hand.
DP
" I rest my case" is a phrase often used by british lawyers in court after every submission, well, I use it as just figure of speech. Ofcourse our case will NOT rest till we achieve our goal.
Now let me clarify one more thing here, DS, in one of his posts up[ that is in between his very many jokes ] is trying to tell us the OTT task is being performed by the majlis al shura. No sir, no, What the Majlis Al Shura does is represent the public and pass over the public wish to the government. To the contrary what the OTT will do is "THINK" " Devise" " Innovate" new IDEAS and policies and advice the government to implement it.
You see the difference now? The shura member is NOT the originator of the idea he is passing over he or she is simply a medium while an OTT member is the source or originator of the idea himself or herself. We are basicaly THINKERS as the name implies and for it will bear fruit on fine day.

Saudis warn over protests
Protests are virtually unknown in Saudi Arabia
Saudi Arabia has warned its people not to stage further protest rallies, after an opposition group called for a new round of nationwide demonstrations on Thursday.
The warning comes nine days after hundreds of people took part in a rare public protest in the capital, Riyadh.
It was issued by the Saudi interior minister, Prince Nayef bin Abdul Aziz, who said such gatherings were illegal.
"Anyone who commits such acts will face a deterrent punishment decided by the court," he said.
The Prince was responding to calls by the London-based Movement for Islamic Reform, whose website listed locations in nine Saudi cities where demonstrations were planned on Thursday.
The movement said it was calling the protests to protest against what it called the injustice and corruption in Saudi Arabia.
Human rights
On 14 October, the authorities rounded up 271 people at a protest in Riyadh held to call for political reform in the staunchly conservative kingdom.
Many of them have since been released after it was concluded that they were just bystanders, but 83 are still in custody and are due to stand trial.
The protest was timed to coincide with a human rights conference in the Saudi capital - the first such forum to be held in the country.
Demonstrations are extremely rare in the desert kingdom, which practises a puritanical form of Islam.

"desert kingdom", where did you get that description from ?
Anyway back to the point. Why from London ? is London taking charge of exporting trouble to the Kingdom ? I think, not long ago people used to say that the Islamic Republic of Iran was poised to export revolution. Now what is London got to do with the Saudi Affairs ? Isn't this the same London that gave Palestine to the Poles ?
All i know about demonstrations in the KSA is that it is not a new thing. They have been doing it on paper but but but what made them change their mind this time ? Are papers lacking in the Kingdom ? Why not do it on a piece of camel skin and all demonstrators put on their signature and have that sent for the museum in Riyadh ?

I have heard that the Kingdom of Saudite Royume, is going to contribute lavishly on the rebuilding of Iraq that they did not demolish and in the future also they will pay in trillions for the compensations of those Americans whose family members were killed in the political game started by the Americans involving Saudi nationals.
To His Majesty The Sultan Qaboos Bin Said.
