I posted a topic like this in General section but didn't get enough ideas. Maybe if I be more specific, I will get a few.

My wedding is coming up and I want to make it a memorable, Unique wedding that has ever happened in Oman. I want it to be the best wedding in Oman (I know I am over delighted about it):blush: . So yalla girls give me some tips on how and where to do the wedding:color: :color:

mmm I remmber an old topic about wedding ideas.

Any way .. what you could do is search in internet sites for ideas .. maybe try to combine other cultuers ideas into your wedding .. it could turn out great.

Another thing is have the camera lady go to your close relatives and friends, ask them to say something to you. That idea is intresting.

are you planing to have it in a hotel hall or outdoors?

Alright. Thank you girls. Now I can see some helping:) .

Well the wedding will be somewhere in January or Feburary.

I want my wedding to be something that never happened or even if it happened but should be very unique. I don't care how much it will cost but I want it to be something UNIQUE and AMAZING .

I don't mind outdoor or indoors. Anywhere in Oman, preferably Muscat, and at any place.

I haven't decided on the number of days I want my wedding to be. However, I want hinna, malka or/and reception together, waleema. What I need help at is during the Hinna party and malka/reception. ummmm so that I don't confuse you girls, give me ideas on how should I make my hinna and malka(i think i will make the malka and reception one day).

idea for henna:

Have it as arabian theme .. the seating should be down, maybe a small table infront of every few seats... you should sit down too .. wear something arabic .. wether Omani or something of the past arabian era (amawiya or abbasiya ) .. have women serving .. wearing arabic clothes too ..

check one of the arabic history series to know what atmosphere am talking about.


In your wedding, dont go and sit ,, the idea of you welcoming the guests sound nice. I think doing it in a hotel is a very normal thing .. if you know somone's (family ofcourse) farm or house with a big garden it would be great (I like outdoor weddings especially that the weather would e great then).

mmm choose a theme here too ... something you like and try to make everything looks like it. Display slides of your baby pictures and make comments on them. that is really fun.

Have all your friends get seated togther and close to your stage .. its fun seeing them happy :) (as some girls in your family to be the guides in the weddnig)

I can imagine my hinna already:D .....I loved the seating and the small tables and the girls wearing Omani serving...that's soo greaaaaaaaaaaaaatt.......I will add that to my hinna.

well this is what I am thinking about now.

Regarding welcoming the guests is a very nice one BUT if I do my malka and reception the same day, then I want to wear the white big gown (I must wear the big gown), therefore standing would make it difficult for me as I might faint if it will be heavy. Plus, my husband will come in for few minutes to read on my head sooooooooooooo :confused:

Regarding showing my baby pictures, I don't have nice ones....:p I might show my hinna's day.


How about getting khaleeje singers in the wedding, do you think it is a good idea or it will be like a festival??

Do they have a garden:confused: I think it is too small if they do as I don't remember seeing a large compound wall!!!

Hinna can be done indoors, so that I can do it anywhere.

I just want help on how to decorate the place and what things should be included (like when you said girls wearing omani clothes serving food , tables down, pictures of mine when i was kid..etc) and where should i do the wedding and hinna.

You can imagine this is your wedding and hinna so start from the door when you enter, how you want it to be decorated until in the hall or if outside and the what should be on the table, what gift to give to people........etc

mmm I dont think its worth it .. its something normal many people did before.... and ladies wont "yakhthu" ra7ithum" when there is a male person there .. dunno this is what I feel!

mmmm so u dont think the greeting idea is great .. what about a small card infront of each seat .. and ask the guests to write you a note .. woow that would be nice .. knowing what people wished you and all and who attended your wedding.

heheh .. one of my husband ideas was that the stage should be a small pond .. and we have something floating as our seat .. but I dont know if its applicable and if it is it would be very expensieve!

Yes I agree with you but shouldn't he come for few minutes just to read on me then leave??!!! or you think it is better that he doesn't come at all?!!
(he will be happy if i tell him not to come at all though), I will be even more happy that the girls won't have to stare at him:D

No greeting is a great idea only if he won't come in BUT i still want to wear the big white gown. how can i wear it if i will stand for long time. Plus I want to enter like how all the brides enter so it looks like a wedding :D I think in this case, i will have to have malka and reception seperate so i can enter as all brides and as well greet at the enterance:color:

Sweetheart, don't care about the price, just get as many ideas as you can. Most important my wedding should be a blast.:color:

I am trying to imagine the pond!!......how are you thinking of it!!. Do you mean the stage should be surronded by water??

Regarding having the seat floating, OOOOOHHHH GOSH, what if i fall in the water or the seat's air finishs then i go inside the water LOOOOL...i think it will be definately unique in a nightmare way..LoL...

here are my ideas.

Have 3 days for the wedding.

1) Hinna (indoors)
I liked AP's idea of decorating it Arabian style with the cushions and dresses and all.

2) Wedding party -women (indoors)
Changing the ballroom and having a certain theme, like maybe a woodland forest, and make all the decorations and seats, tables, stage match. Have butterflies around, or pigeons in cages hung around maybe..?

3) Mixed dinner (outdoors)
An outdoor dinner in a garden. Don't invite any old people. Just have it as a mixed dinner, you invite your friends, and let your husband-to-be invite his. Mainly young adults, that's what I mean. Maybe you can have a band playing or a singer here, but I guess most people wouldn't want to dance.. it'll be nice having dinner on a cool evening under the stars and listening to some good music though :)

I think having the henna indoors and the wedding outdoors is a good idea...Albustan Palace hotel Garden is the best place for an outdoor reception.

Nooooo I meant the khaliji singers here .. your husband have to come there .. its one of the most joyish moments of the wedding seeing him coming forward to your seat :)

I'd go for a traditionally wedding with an arabian theme with tents and lots of white and gold drapes and lots of candles and cushions all over :)

the mixed one would just be a dinner after the couple is already married. it should be sort of a mr. and mrs. reception outdoors, but just for younger people.. like the bride and groom's friends - ofcourse even the unmarried ones can attend.,

I liked everyone's ideas, however, I am not really into mixed wedding. I am very jealous and I don't want My man being around with girls. I know men will be there but still:D

One thing I am worried about outside party, is if the weather changes to bad like rain or that sort. My wedding will be a mess and unforgetable bad memory:(

Bustan Garden is the best to do a wedding outdoor, however, isn't there anywhere else I can do outdoor??

because everyone is trying their best to have the best wedding cermonies on earth so i think if you dont have one everyone will remember that you didnt have one but you can go on honey moon.......
