Question: I had a sister come to me yesterday in great distress. She confessed that she finds herself masturbating and is not sure what to do to stop. When she was younger she said that she had heard it was permissble to stay away from zina - (so how she started) - however growing and learning more she said she sincerely repented and asked Allah to keep her on the straight path. This sister prays 5 times a day and is well respected. Her problem now is that she wakes up sometimes in the night in this (maturbating) state. She said she stops as soon as she realizes what she is doing. Her confusion is that she is not doing it intentionally. She was wondering how a one would know if a "Jinn" was touching her or "making her do" such things which she does not want to do and sincerely keeps asking Allah for guidance and forgiveness.

Answer:

This may be an additiction or result of emotional strain. The person involved should review her own history and see when she started masturbatng and from that time till the present see exactly under what conditions, states, etc, she normally finds herself masturbating.

I think then from there we can move forward to narrowing down what we might advise.

Secondly, a jinn could be involved. But if she:


1. is punctual with her prayers,
2. avoids major sins, and
3. watches what she eats, drinks, and wears to make sure they are 'halal' and sharia permissible,

...then these activities will act as shields for her.


It will be of great benefit to recite:


1. Ayat al-Kursi (Qur’an, 2: 255), and
2. bismillah irrahman irrahim, bismillahi khairi il asma'i, bismillah illadhi la yadhurru ma' ismihi shayyun fil ardhi wa la fis samai' wa huwa ssami'ul aleem ['In the name of Allah the Merciful and Compassionate. In the name of Allah, the Best of Names. In the name of Allah, with whose name nothing in the earth or sky may cause harm, and He is the Hearing and Knowing']

...3 times after praying fajr and after praying maghrib.

The Prophet said: Among those whom Allah will not look at on the Day of Resurrection, and to whom He will say, "Enter the Fire along with those who enter," the Prophet (pbuh) counted the following: The active and the passive partners in homosexuality; the one who has sex with animals; the one who is married to a woman and her daughter at the same time; and the one who masturbates regularly, unless they repent and reform.

Things to prevent masturbation
1) The motive to seek a cure for this problem should be solely following Allaah’s orders and fearing His punishment.
2) Using one’s available leisure time in worshipping Allaah and increasing religious knowledge.
3)Avoiding the illusion that some youth have that masturbation is permissible because it prevents them from committing illegal sexual acts such as fornication or even homosexuality.
4)Finally, Allaah is the Most Merciful and He always responds to whoever calls on Him. So, asking for Allah’s forgiveness will be accepted, by His will.

I am sorry to say.....and I am cursed for sure..........but I think masturbation is 100% natural.......

I disagree that is a sin......and it seems you must be in denial about this.......

Even babies play with their pee pees all day long!!!!!!

PS.....it is better if you can get your girlfriend to do it, though!!!!.....after a training course and pop quiz.

I agree that it’s a psychological normal behavior, but the thing is its reprimanded for a reason and not through the quran but through the sunna. Not all our 'quacks' come from the quran as you put it.

How about doing something more useful with your self 5 times a day other than BIG SINS, go pick a flower look at the beauty of nature maybe even go for a walk on the beach. Your making yourself turn out like a sex freak!?
