Is it possible for one week to not speak about the above countries.... not in a post nor in a thread!!

How about child death in Africa?
How about lack of water ?
How about the tribe which rules zimbabwa or the Congo?
How about Sudan and the endless internal war?
How about Egypt and the false democracy? >> Hussney Mubarak
How about Oman's politics and neighbouring countries?

Why does everyone just run around in circles discussing Israel ..Iraq ...America in every dam.n post!!

There are other people who are worthy of discussion on this planet beyond America & Israel!!

3/4ths of the members here care only about happenings at the countries mentioned in your thread title.

Actually, you could go ahead and open up other threads regarding the water scarcity in Africa or the AIDS epidemic or so. I'll make sure to contribute to those threads, as well.

:)

How about Oman's politics and neighbouring countries? All of these except Oman's politics would be excelent topics. As you know we are not allowed to fully question Oman's government. HMs credibilty, lifestyle etc is strictly off limits.

Let me add one to the mix.

How about women still not being able to vote in Kuwait?

Well......I think that's a good idea......How about the political implications of "breast implants"? Or hair hygene after intercourse.....These seem to be the hot topics on sabla these days............

Or how about fossil fuels killing the planet?

Or the taste of sperm being yukky?

Or how about "hug an Israeli" week?

Cheers

How unfair jack !

We've been talking and flogging Oman's policies a lot. Any milage ? Haven't we talked of free choice for marriage ? yet and yet just keep on waiting and you see things coming good way Insha`Allah.

certainly it would be good and I agree with Seham we should also talk about Israel's intervention in Africa to stealing natural resources of the land such as all those precious stones and metals. Yes we should talk of American double standard in dealing with other suffering nations of the African continents. We should be highlighting on western longer term policy over third world countries' small industries not to see the light as long as they don't agree to be manipulated. Yes the ISO9000 thingy etc.

I am afraid Seham the route cause of International problem is the Israeli intransigence behavior supported by both the UK and U.S.A.

The U.S.A. today stands no chance of not being discussed on any global issues. That country with the support of the UK has its fingers in every pie so ? 2speak like it or not.

LOL, RIGHT, Sloth-boy ... America IS the root cause of ALL the world's problems.

This is proven beyond a doubt by the absolute lack of conflict in the world prior to the founding of the USA in 1776.

Your analysis is brilliant, your evidence irrefutable.

In politics Sabla , Israel/Palestine/America/UK/Iraq/Iran has become the main focus.

Reasons:
1) Most of the participants are follower of Islam here.
2) Most of the participants are inhabitants of the Middle East.
3) There is no way to deny the impact on them.

Nooooo ! you've obviously misunderstood me or have deliberately decided to take a diversion. Of course America has all the potentialities of being an Earth Paradise, but sad is chances are not exploited beyond benefit of the few well to do senators in the States who wants to make more money and nothing esle. They behave as if they are immortal. That is the difference. The rest of the world had higher expectation of the USA during the so called cold war and even more after. But but it seems greediness for global wealth has blinded the policy makers. Especially when it comes to our near past when Islamic countries walked hand-in-hand along with the capitalist west against the communism and corrupted socialist administrations. Now can some one tell me why this all of a sudden change of heart ? Why there are voices comming from the west that after communism the next enemy is Islam ?

I bet those proposing such approach are a bunch of people who do not know or are deliberately "ignoring" the fact a 'peaceful' muslim who has nothing in life but that of worshiping his GOD. A GOD fearing muslim I know Moonlight doesn't believe in GOD therefore she is a Threat to GOD fearing people. Right Moony ?

Islam as a Threat ? How pathetic ! weird, weird. In my opinion Islam is being provoked so that some elements or "sick" people in the society do something "silly like did McVey". But we did not condemn the people of America for his deeds, did we other than feeling sorry for those innocent lives lost ?

shhh, shall we say al -Qaeda and all those small triger happy yankees who fought in Afghanistan calling themselves mujahedeen were actually, according, the media a making of the USA ? Now look how the rest of us, peace loving, God fearing muslims have our identity tarnished ?

Moony it's me who should pray to GOD for you and those analysts in the States to regain their pure unpolluted senses of humanistic as opposed to materialistic. Attitude of banging ones head against a wall is that of suicide mentality leave it and be a normal human being. See how perfect you were created very precisionely indeed.

How about Egypt and Hosni Mohammed Mubarak ? A leader who cares for his people over 60 million with rich heritage. Hard working sloths of course. Geographically well positioned strategically. Suez one of the important resources of the country. His Excellency the President is like those in the States an ex-Military Office specifically the Air Force. He fought for his countries intergrity and was raised to a Vice-President under Mohammed Anwar Sadat both having served in the defence of their country. They have seen the country onto economic development taking it out of corrupted so called socialism. He removed the ques Egyptians used to hold for buying consumable commodity. He is the leader well groomed by the late Mohammed Anwar Sadat. Who is best to lead the Egyptian society. In return the Egyptians are accepting democratically his grooming of his own son Jamal Mohammed Hosni Mubarak to take-over in due course.

The only strange thing about Egyptian politics is the diminishing of dark skinned southerners in position of influence. Perhaps a result of educational negligence or racism of the modern Arab. But it is notable, soon after the British departure there were a number of dark skinned Egyptians in positions of influence. But numbers are obviously beginning to dwindle which could be a result of 'Americanisation of Egyptian Administration' :gap:

I like the British, yes I adore them, very much. Yes nowadays you can see dark skinned British citizens in the top posts. GOD Bless the Queen and forgive Blair for his bad deeds. They now seem to practice humanity. After all "we are all from Adam".

Yes, I believe that the way America was organized, it had the best chance of allowing people the freedom to be ANYTHING - to exhibit the highest potential - or FAIL to. More clearly than anywhere else, perhaps, we see Human Nature, eh? You see a few hard-working decent people carrying a whole lot of lazy-arsed ignoramuses (which is why communism will never work).

There will never be Earthly Paradise, given human nature as it is.

The rest of the world had higher expectation of the USA during the so called cold war and even more after.

Now, THIS is truly a wise insight into the folly of the world. the PEOPLE of USA are no better or worse than anywhere else in the world. We've got a pretty good system to live our lives under (flawed, but better than most) ... but there's no genetic superiority that makes all Americans more moral, more good, more altruistic, more ANYTHING than the rest of the world (unless you take into account the selection process of those who had the personality to emigrate to a new world, or the strength to survive their forced emigration).

Greedy, power-hungry ba$tards will still seek positions of influence, through business, military, or politics. And seek to manipulate the public opinion of a largerly ignorant population into accepting their authority (remember, half of all Americans are below average intelligence ;) ).

I'd love to think that America IS morally superior and really altruistic towards the rest of the world - but it ain't true. It just happens to be where I was born and a nice place to live, so I don't move ;)

Are you two wishing for more casualties ? isn't there a political talk to end the killings ? Isn't such a sadistic attitude ?

Bush and Blair have left their youngsters in an Iraqi killing swamp at no light for political solution soon. Please GOD spare lives till a political solution is achieved. There ought to be no more groaning homes on both sides.

Mrs Seham!

Believe me or not I hardly read any topic that has these 4 [ Israel/Palestine/America/Iraq ] in its title. You see people are sick and tired of the above dominating the media day in day out. sure.... we should discuss other palatable issues like this one [ How about Oman's politics and neighbouring countries? ] more often.

I am with you madam.............through and through.

Or....................happenings like this right in our backyard that could have an impact on our local politics. Read about it below..............

Saudi women join reform call

Petitioners are worried Saudi Arabia is a breeding ground for extremists
A number of women in Saudi Arabia have signed a petition calling for radical reform to tackle growing extremist Islamic influence in the country.
The document, signed by more than 300 people including 51 women, was handed in to Crown Prince Abdullah.

Called "In Defence of the Nation", it highlights the absence of popular participation in decision-making.

Critics say this lack makes the kingdom a breeding ground for extremists.

'Outspoken attack'

The BBC's Middle East analyst, Roger Hardy, says it is unprecedented for such a petition to be signed by women, putting new pressure on both the religious conservatives, the ulama, and the ruling princes.

He says the pressure for wide-ranging reforms is becoming a groundswell.

The key question, our correspondent says, is whether Prince Abdullah can please the liberals without alienating the powerful ulama.

Saudi Arabia has come under increasing pressure to reform since the 11 September terror attacks, when 15 of the 19 hijackers were Saudi.

The petition is the third one handed in this year.

The latest document condemned acts of violence and urged the Crown Prince to recognise the need to start implementing radical comprehensive reform process.

"Expectations are high," said Fowziyah Abu-Khalid, a sociologist and writer and one of the women who signed the petition.

We want change to come from within, and from our own culture

Abu Khalid
Female signatory
Saudis are not allowed to hold public gatherings to discuss political or social issues, and press freedoms are limited.

Women are segregated in public places, cannot drive cars and must be covered from head to toe when in public.

Abu-Khalid, one of the female signatories, told AP news agency: "We want change to come from within, and from our own culture.

"And we both, men and women, are ready to shoulder the responsibility."

'Pace of change slow'

In January more than 100 Saudis signed a petition calling for wide-ranging reforms.

Our correspondent said Saudi liberals clearly feel that while there is a lot of talk of reform, the pace of change is painfully slow.

In May, suicide bombings in the capital Riyadh left 35 people dead.

The bomb attacks have acted as a catalyst - jolting many Saudis into seeing that Islamic extremism is a far more powerful internal threat than they had realised, he added.

Mr. Desert_Sloath

No, I am not wishing the death of American troops and Iraqis freedom fighter.
Our good wishes are not enough.
It is true that I wish Iraqi should free their motherland and they should get out the invaders from their soil.
For the peace , freedom of small country , it has become necessary.

I'd only agree with Madame Seham that we forget forget talking about Iraq/Palestine/America/Israel but on condition that we don't copy anti-Palestinian disinformation of equating these 'Wakombozi' to terrorist. How pathetic to call 'Wakombozi' terrorists.

I'll only address Palestinian terrorist if His Excellency Mandikiza Mandela, Nelson calls them so. He is the only human being on the face of this earth today who would never imagine Palestinian as 'terrorists' to the contrary he'd give his verding as terrorists the other side. Struggling Palestinians are 'wakombozi'.
