View Full Version : Your Dress Ya Banaat !
Guwantanamist 29-09-03, 01:41 AM Your Clothes ladies !!!
All what you do is give us a difficult time in searching for a place to point our eyes at !
(I mean other than your selfs)
(Especially for unmarried people like my self !)
This is a long topic that soon i am going to talk about insha allah. Meanwhile I'm too busy with my studies.
Think about the topic and i guess we will have an interesting (and hopefully useful) thread.
Ladies Dresses..
All what you do is give us a difficult time in searching for a place to point our eyes at !
(I mean other than your selfs)
Guwantanamist,
This is very interesting topic..
What i could say is i dont see and understand how difficult it is to look at the other way!
I did not understand what you meant by..
"....I mean other than your selfs...."
Guwantanamist 29-09-03, 05:43 PM Ok now let me be a bit more clear in this topic....
trick track trick track trick track ...... etc
Is the first thing that catches attension towards ladies. You look up and there you find a lady that covers her self with a Abbaya that only draws more attension to her self. That is it is only a "look" abbaya not a ''Sitr" abbaya.
Now the girls get angry when guys gaze at her body, while she her self is advertising for it by the way she wears.
For instance you will find a wide open Abbaya with the girl wearing tight pants (bantaloon) under it that shows the cuttings of her body. Is this how a girl she be dressed up like ?!!!
The problem is that you see this every single place you walk at. In Uni, in the streats and sometimes your cousins !!!
Its really sad when someone looks up and by mistake look and what he looks under the abbaya. Well ofcourse the first gaze you do not get sins for it since you do not mean to look .... (النظرة الأولى لك و الثانية عليك), but at the end of the day we are human beings that cannot stop our selvs from thinking or imagining. Especially when it happens all the time and at any place.
I am sure that those girls do not mean to dress in such a bad way, but the problem is that they do not see it wrong. Truthfully this is even a bigger problem than them knowing and only doing it for show. Because this means they will keep dressing like this and will also teach their children to dress on the same way (not realizing that it is Islamically not allowed to wear like this).
Well before moving into the Islamic verses that are related to this issue I advise my sisters to be carefull when they dress. There is nothing better than a girl being fully dressed without showing parts of her body.
Maybe one issue that will be braught up are statements like " The look is not important but the soul is important". For now my reply is that BOTH are important and we cannot sacrifice one for the other.
Libellula 30-09-03, 06:57 PM I think that it's all up to the man, whether he looks or not. You can control yourself. If you look once and see something that's not "right", then simple.. just look away. It's all to do with self-control.
I agree with Pheonix.... why do the men like to act like they are 'helpless creatures'.... :duh:
Wardat_il'7leej 30-09-03, 08:11 PM Not that i disagree with you Phenyy, but i think what is being mentioned is whts the point of wearing the Abyaa if your still going to wear stuff that r ''revealing'' underneath. As for gazing then the guy should avoid looking and IMAGINING in the 1st place! PLzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz you can control yourself.
hmmm....
"Say to the believing man that they should lower their gaze and guard their modesty; that will make for greater purity for them; and Allah is well acquainted with all that they do. And say to the believing women that they should lower their gaze and guard their modesty; and that they should not display their beauty and ornaments except what must ordinarily appear thereof; that they should draw their veils over their bosoms and not display their beauty except to their husbands..." (Qur'an 24:30-31)
Guwantanamist 30-09-03, 11:43 PM First of all im glad that wardat el'7aleej got my point. The reason of this sabla is not talking about the (gazing), but more about the dress the ladies wear.
To make things more clear, gazing will happen when the girl does not wear bi7tisham. So if we fix the way the women get dressed up we will automatically stop the second problem of (gazing).
PLzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz you can control yourself.
well maybe i can , maybe i cant ! If i can maybe the others cant !
So again the problem continues.
Now let us move into another related problem.
That is when the girl dresses up in a way to attract attention. Call it mawda call it saya3a, it does not make a difference.... the result is the same when (7ayaa2) is missing in a girl...
1) She cheepens her self.
A girl that on the tongue of every one with descriptions such as (ohh how sexy this girl is .... bla bla) .... is a very cheap girl.
Well she thinks that (wooow) they are talking about me, but then ? What about her future ? What about her repution ? Would she want to get married ? What would the reaction of her husband be when he hears such things ?
2) she causes unstability to the society.
Men who are not married or even those who are married get some feelings when they see a half dressed women ! This has nothing to do with how "good" a person is, it is the human nature. A man get attracted to the women...and this is very natural to continue the life span in this earth.
These feelings vary from person to person, and you never know what the reaction can be.
3) It says something about her family.
When a father or a brother sees a member of his family going out half dressed with very strong perfume without feeling (bil'3eera) then i should say that there is something wrong with this person. Weather a mother or a father. They are either mentally ill or emotionally dead !
I mean how can they accept it to their dauter ?! :fire: Very sad walla. This would only tell us something about how "modernized" or more precisely how "dumb" the parents are.
There are lots of stories that happened here in Oman that are very very sad. It started with a girl half dressed, happy with the cutting of her body and would like to share its look to everyone on the street........ then it ended with a disaster.
We might go into some of these stories, those which i saw or totaly sure of the resourse of the story teller. Anyone can share with us meanwhile with anything he or she heared.
Endure Whisper 01-10-03, 01:34 AM Men shouldn't act like weak creatures and try to avoid staring at women as how they are nowadays!
Anyway, looking at it in an Islamic way, women should be well covered, whether men see them or not...
So, don't think about men seeing you or not.. think about whether or not Allah accept what you're wearing or not.
Shinoda LP 01-10-03, 01:47 AM What about the way men dress, and do all that make-up stuff now to look handsome and gather more glares from ladies?
One sided affair.
Actually, Guwanta ... I would love imagining if I like what I see under the Aabaya. If she has to guts to wear a wide-split Aabaya with tight whatever inside, then so be it.
Women who dress stupid are asking for men's stares......
Seham, if men weren't so 'helpless' and so easily 'motivated' then We wouldn't have to cover anything.
And for the guys, if it isn't respectable then turn your headj, '3adh il ba9ar.
el7ilwa 02-10-03, 01:33 PM I think all what Gwanty said is true & the fault start from the family who let its daughters go out half nacked under the name of freedome!!!
Second as Enigma said girlz who wear stupid stuff or flashy things they are only seeking for getting attention, & how do they look silly when they say"Oof these guys are staring at me & following me":duh: 3aial Y they are going out like this in the first place???!!!
Finaly the girl is responsible before the guy in making this sin which strat with a look & end up with some thing else....
So if we fix the way the women get dressed up we will automatically stop the second problem of (gazing). Not :bang:
Men will still gaze ;) no matter what women wear.

Men need women help to control themselves, the problem should be solved from the source, and the source is ofcourse the women, if they dress properly and avoide wearing tight and attractive cloths then men will not have any thing to look at.
IceTeathe problem should be solved from the source,This ones a no brainer about the "source" :bang: and it's not the women. ;)

Are you saying men are less motivated if women cover up.... it looks like you haven't stepped foot outside Oman!!
Go to Saudia Arabia.... women there cover up from head to toe with loose Abaya's even a face mask.... and see how men hassle the women!
Then go to Europe ..... see how women are dressed up there and how unlikely they are going to hassle women.....
Let us go by statistics:
% of men that hassle women in the West compared to % of men that hassle women in the Islamic countries ....
Then please come back here and tell me .... men are helpless when they see women wearing a tight Abaya....

Women in the west are the one who hassle men and not the opposite. Beside that there is no restriction in the west everything free and open.
So your comparison is not valid.

*Well said Seham, no1 could say it any better
its sad how in our society, the blame is all thrown on the women i
If the man sins, he would say: but oh no, she was the one who pushed me to do it..!
Guwantanamist 02-10-03, 10:49 PM Very wrong faithful ....
Realise i never said that what men gaze it is not wrong, but the existing problem that is being discused here is that women are undressed very well, wheather someone gazed or did not.
About Saudi arabia ,,,,, may i ask they gaze at what ?! :duh: People are sick if they look at a black figure, but then they do have good imagination skills !

*Okay then, if they don't gaze then why is the way she dresses in is wrong?
Don't tell me it is against Islam, and Islam told her 2 wear 7ijab, instead give the reason why Islam wanted her 2 wear 7ijab in the 1st place.
*And abt Saudia Arabia, well here is the whole point buddy, men don't need the women to be half-dressed so that they could stare at her, they would look at any women passing them by..

What I meant was they can't help looking, even if it's for a second....hassling has nothing to do with it. :duh:
