to all our Christian members,

what's the significance of burning crosses outside non white people houses in US? this used to happen for hundreds of years in the US and used to be really bad even in the 60s.

KKK (Klu Klux Klan) http://www.kkklan.com/historical.htm

Hate/vigilante group with ideology much the same as the Nazi party. It started after the civil war to keep the blacks afraid. There are still a few active chapters today, but their membership is small.

And yes they did all this in Gods name, hence the burning of the cross.

people lets not confuse stupid movements like KKK with Chritsianity. yes they carried all their hatered and terror in the name of Christianity but really they had/have nothing to do with religion. Christianity doesn't preach hate.

They were not carried out in the name of Christianity.

They believed in white supremacy.

They were universally condemned.

Their main agenda was the persecution of blacks.

Their symbol was an upside down buring cross.

They are no longer allowed to carry out their racist agenda.

So not the same thing.

i just linked the cross to Christianity but i could be wrong. in that case my question still remains why choose the cross as a symbolm?
