WHAT TO DO AT THE TIME OF HEART ATTACK, WHEN YOU ARE ALONE

Let's say it's 6:15 p.m. and you're driving home, alone of course, after an unusually hard day on the job. You are really tired, upset and frustrated.
Suddenly you start experiencing severe pain in your chest that starts to radiate out into your arm and up into your jaw. You are only about five miles from the hospital nearest your home; unfortunately you don't know if you'll be able to make it that far.

HOW TO SURVIVE A HEART ATTACK WHEN ALONE

Since many people are alone when they suffer a heart attack, this article is in order:

ุ... Without help, the person whose heart stops beating properly and who begins to feel faint, has only about 10 seconds left before losing consciousness.

ุ… However, these victims can help themselves by coughing repeatedly and very vigorously. A deep breath should be taken before each cough, and the cough must be deep and prolonged, as when producing sputum from deep inside the chest.

ุ… A breath and a cough must be repeated about every two seconds without letting up until help arrives, or until the heart is felt to be beating normally again.

ุ… Deep breaths get oxygen into the lungs and coughing movements squeeze the heart and keep the blood circulating.

ุ… The squeezing pressure on the heart also helps it regain normal
rhythm. In this way, heart attack victims can get to a phone and, between breaths, call for help. Tell as many other people as possible about this,it could save their lives!

Thanx... I just wish someone knew about this earlier on. Speaking of heart attacks, TODAY... at exactly 6:15... A young man has died in my beach. Reason: sudden heart attack we assume. And his little son was just playing around in the sands in a world of total cinfusion of what all the fuss about ambulance n stuff was. How sad eh .....???
What surprised me most of all is that how unbeliably SLOW these ambulances R. I was myself there screaming at them t speed up ng et outta the car n the guy told me : Sabrii sabrii" HOW CAN I ISBAR IF SOMEONES DYING IN MY FEET?!?!
& Indeed he died. allah yir7amoo. Guys please be carefull when swiming in the sea or wherever. We cannot afford to lose another life
Thanx

I recommend that everone take a first aid course, as you never know when you will be with someone who is having a heart attack. The first aid course is easy and you get a card that allows you to do it almost in any country. I did it and now I am confident that I can help people. At least one person in every home should know this technique.

Hi there
Excellent work by the way.
It's nice that there are useful topics that can change our lives bing presented here, other than the usual whinning about how unfair life is!
I do agree that these steps are quite important, but even more important is preventing the reason for the heart attack in the first place!
Diet is very important, and I don't mean the 1 week vegtable and fruits only crash courses only to go to Burger King and Pizza hut the next week. We have to eat moderately and sensibly, starting at a young age, not after your first heart attack 'cause by then the damage is already done!
Excersise is another factor, and I'm quite impressed by the amount of people that have taken up walking, especiall whenever the weather alows it and in Ramadhan.
We have a lot of diabetes, hypertension and a lot of people that smoke in Oman, all good reasons for Keeping our heart surgeons busy.
Please take care of yourselves.
May god bless you with good health

Cholestrol is a major contributor to most Heart Attacks, therefore we must be very careful with our food and lifestyle as well, exercise will do
