I need to buy a car but since I don’t know anything about cars I thought of asking here. What I’m looking for is something not above 6 or 7 thousands, of course good looking. I don’t know about other things but I’ll give you a clue of what I want the car to look like. Passat, Rover and Audi A4 and A6. I’m waiting for your suggestions.

Anyway, Bora is a nice car :) I don't like beetles.. If you're feeling comfortable with Bora, I'd suggest to go for it!

First of all, what is your purpose for having a car? Is it for daily commute, or you plan to have a hybrid daily drive/strip (race) duty, or is it all-out race? A daily driven car would be one that, preferably, is cost-efficient and will not be too much to maintain. I could suggest the Honda Civic in this case, as it is an excellent daily driver, and if you want to, you can later on modify it with aftermarket parts for strip duty (or you just have that need for speed).

Of course I'll buy the car with down payment. I'm not planning to buy the car now but I just wanted to have an idea of the options I have. I can't pay 6 k just like that!!!! I will start work next month and I won't have my salary till after 3 months. That means if I'll buy a car it'll be by January maybe. Now I'm using my sister's car.
I went to check rav4 and camry yesterday and both of them are for 8 k. I also went to check lumeena number 4 is for 7 k and Subaru, Legacy and they have an offer foror it, 7 k with full options, but I heard that it uses petrol alot.
I think I'll go with peguet after all.

since you are talking about Bora, it is a nice car but you can consider Golf or even Peguet 307 which is amazing[both are at the same price range i belive]

also cars in the class you mentioned, passat/a4/rover they dont come in the price you want, unless some of them i think passat number 3 is 7 K.

but keep in mind Milliardo Peacecraft 's suggestion

That car is nice, I took it for a test drive once and I feel in love with it.

If you want a reliable car, I advice you to go for ford. I have been using ford scince I started driving and it is a good car . Very light and quite strong.

Ford Focus is nice, dunno about the spare parts and its quality though, although Mondeo which is at the same level as passat but costs less.

Honda provides very good service here in the Philippines, so I can say that this would be true elsewhere. Very reliable. My car is 10 years old, and it still runs very well.

Hey clowny, I drove echo and I also drove a BMW 525 and believe me if I had the chance I would buy the BMW. It's true that echo doesn't drink alot of petrol but the safety is ZERO = 0

Kia, My cousin bought it... if I am not mistaken the model is Rio.. In terms of the car safety i must say it is very low.. the car look very good, but when you are in it, it feels like you are going to fly very soon! And if it get accidents (Allah forbid) then everyone in the car could be smashed with it. I dont know why but I dont trust that car when it comes to security.

yesterday when i went to the exsebition, i saw the Rio, the body of the car is really thin, but the inter. of the car is really nice..how much did your cousin buy it for? if more than 10K then he should have bought the Skoda, the one which looks like the passat, for 10K, number 1, stronger body, more security, and above all its not Korean!

2nd-German cars r good solid cars, so a VW Bora is a good option,service is every 15k & its cheap.

3rd-2 door cars "sports" will cost u so much to insure.

4th-if u have the money, just go & buy urself a Bently Coupe & live ur life

1-AUDI S3 (too expensive for what you get)
2-audi TT (too many technical issues)
3-Rover

something you should look into is the New Golf which is coming early in the summer the new cooper cabroilet (convertible)
and about insurance dont go 4 a 2door car becuase insurance would cost more so its good that your not going 4 a 2door
and if your looking for something sporty yet elegent you shold go for the Pegoet 307 which is selling like hot cakes and theyre many options.
and if your looking for a nice saloon you can go for the new and revised Passat W8 (which is the new engine) but that will cut you back a good 12grand.
another thing you shold look into is the alfa 147 but then again thats 2door
well you just tell me what your candidates are and i'll tell you the pro's and cons!
as long as its not an american car you'd be fine. and yeah they are alot of good japanese cars coming up in the market. with your price rang of 6>7 thousand you can get yourself a decent german or a top of the range jap

first of all with the Rover for the price your getting it doesnt really over you much i mean ur buying a saloon car for around 13,000 which is only a 2.5 liter 180 bhp?! that deff not enough for a saloon car and the handeling is not that good and come on it doesnt even LOOK nice i could give you 101 reasons why not the rover! believe me

get the Skoda...looks identical to the Passat and raqum 1 is for 9K

I think from those small cars, I would go for Ford Focus.

Its Spanish made, German Technology used on wheels. I don't know some how I love that car. You get 17Km/1litre of petrol. This is amazing actually.

Its body is strong; I saw that here in Australia when we had an accident on Western Freeway. I understood that day it has very good body. Its pulling is not bad, very good spacing, you feel like comfortable with the seating, and it’s ergonomically healthy for your sitting. The leg can be kept 90 degree bent and can be opened to 120 degree wide which is actually freeing the blood to your feet, it doesn’t make swelling if you sit for a long time. I’ve taken it from Melbourne to Perth, Perth to Adelaide, and Adelaide to Melbourne back again, it was comfortable ride. It gives me the feeling that I’m in a C class Merc. The car is heavy and safe for speeding.

I don’t know why I liked it although I’ve been driving better than that back in England, but I feel this Ford Focus is amazing car….

Mr v6 4motion,it seems u havent been to Oman for a long time,Skoda has just been introduced recently to the Omani Market,thats why u see less Skodas on the road,where as in U.A.E they have been in the market for a long time,hence u see more of them there.

I have a Mitsu. Pajero & have used Mitsu Service in Oman a couple of times & I have to say they were good,their prices were cheaper than Dubai where I normally send the car for service.

I'm sure once the Skoda picks up in the market it will be driven by everyone & if its the same as VW Passat & cheaper by RO1000 then its good value for money.........

well mr "Da man" i was in oman all summer, so i havent been there for a month or so now.
well if you look at skoda's sales INTERNATIONALLY its what shows how its REALLY doing and 2 tell u the truth theyre not doing very well.
oman and the gulf is such a SMALL market
and besides zubair compared 2 other car dealerships in oman theyre service and customer service is a lil slacking. theyre O.K but theyre slacking.
they sell good cars but they need 2 work on customer satisfaction. like bahwan

first of all with the Rover for the price your getting it doesnt really over you much i mean ur buying a saloon car for around 13,000 which is only a 2.5 liter 180 bhp?! that deff not enough for a saloon car and the handeling is not that good and come on it doesnt even LOOK nice i could give you 101 reasons why not the rover! believe me

I asked the price of the rover, it is about 6,987 nearly 7,000... that is the given price but If a person wants to buy it they can go lower than that.

I agree with you .. I am also in love with ford focus .. price wise, look wise, and also safty wise .. Ford in genral is strong.

you knbow arabian princess we have an experience at the american cars for 21 years my father have been using it but today we have changed our way coz service has change i remember we sufferd alot with ford the big one till we sold it and go for gmc also we have saild pontic and buy jug jug is the best as also the german cars...yes its strong but no at the service

well ford has a good service center and btw ford focus is an overall nice car but its the same standard as the corrolla btw

This Ford Focus thingy, I don't know really what to say, its comfortable car, I love it so much.

While travelling we had this bed spread with us, we could flat down the back seat to the front put two pillows and sleep while we both felt tired of driving.

I will get back to Oman and buy me a ford focus for sure.... I LOVE THAT CAR :love:

You know V6, I had a Jaguar sport back in England, I hated it because of it is so expensive to change anything in it. A plug would cost me around 70-100 pounds... its too much.... a super filter would cost me I don't know how much!!! d@mn. Then I changed, I took a land rover, that was a comfortable car, but then I had to leave to Oman and then to Australia, so I couldn't use it for long :(. I still like Land Rover. Its meant for Luxury.

Now, I don't like those Luxorious cars, I just like a simple car, and for that I think Ford Focus has everything if someone know how to design its interior like my friend's car. :love: her car so much...

I asked the salesperson, about the engine stuff... because I heard that jaguars are not really good cars, very easy to break down. I aske him about it.. and he was like.... they have changed their engines to the ones of the bmw's! then if so, how come it is cheaper?

the sales man is theyre 2 SELL u the car he would not tell u if theres problems with the car! like hwen the Audi TT first came 2 oman they didnt konw anything abt the rear suspension problems that it made cars flipped, and when we asked them theyre like its not true! but i did some research and found out they had recalled all the audi TT and thats why u see the1 that came later came with a wing. the salesman wants 2 sell u the car
well jaguar have good engines and about me getting a cheaper price is because i get a certain % discount from MHD :) aand btw jaguar do not have BMW engines its the rovers that have bmw engines now :)

the mazda 6 is a good car service is not bad, and theyre many options 2 choose from i do not konw the price yet but its nice and sporty looking too :)

C Class, u'll get it in different engines i.e 1.8,2.2,2.4 & 3.2. It also comes in 4 diiferent options i.e Classic, Elegance, Avantgarde & Sport. I have seen the C 240 sport & its a beauty.

Nice & small, makin it easy to park & u have the sensors to aid you, it also has cruise control, airbags, sport seats & sporty spoilers with 18" rims.

Of course there is the C 55 which is the mean machine :6: but I think it is non existant in our beautiful Sultanate Of Oman :D

Price of the C 240 Sport is approx. DHS 145,000 in Dubai, I'm expecting it to be at least RO 16,000 in Oman.

P.S: I THINK ITS TIME TO BUY THE CAR SITI BLOOD ROSE ;)

hmmm yeah but the C55 has been having problems with many ECU's and rear suspension failures lately........bas its a beast of a machine

gimme a 6series or a M3 CSL anyday :)

now i don't want something sporty, the car i want is classic, something like in the pic. but i know this is top of the range and i can't afford it.. :sorry:

i prefer a 2 door car.. with reasonable price... so how much is the C180.. if there is such a car.. the website i found didn't provide much information..

the C180 also comes in diff engine specs

the C180 goes for around 12>13 maybe even less riyal omani

its a realy cute car and i think it suits gurls very well :)

well on a C class anything above a 2.0 is a good enough engine you can go for a 2.0 kompresser which means its super charged which gives you a lil more power ;)
