When I was a Christian, I always had the impression that "Allah" was a God for the Arabs and that He was a separate God from the one we were worshipping.

Now, as a muslim, I realize that many non-muslims still believe that Allah has nothing to do with their God and is still something Arabic.

My questions are:

1) Do you agree on this statement?

2) Do you, non-muslims, believe that God and Allah are two separate creators?

1) Do you agree on this statement?

Uninformed people may think this.

2) Do you, non-muslims, believe that God and Allah are two separate creators?

One in the same. Really just two different words to express the same meaning.

Every religion which believes that there is ONE god, must logically believe in the same god.

How could it be otherwise?

X-press........excellent topic.......

I tend to think of the birth of religion in the middle east as coming from the house of Abraham.........and the development of Islam as an extention of the Arab culture and paganism......

All three religions share the idea of one GOD.......as brought to their tribe thru a prophet.......

But no doubt, that was a time of tribal societies, and the fact that Islam spoke to the Arab tirbes..........turned them from pagaism to Islam.

The idea that God spoke exclusivly to the Arabs and gave them the final message of God........and that some Arabs claim the holy books of others to be FALSE......is very insulting, and creates constant mistrust and hatred.......between them.

On the other hand.......there are really wonderful principles revealed in all the holy books about compassion and peace......

I still find it absurd that the Arabs state that to really understand Islam you must pray in Arabic......and there are lots of things like this that give one the impression that Islam is only for Arabs........

People these days are too stupid and proud to admit the common bonds that we all share......in some ways tribalism is getting stronger as people feel threatened by others........so in short.........One God with different tribes surrounding it who basically hate each other.......

Well you have to understand what is praying to us.

Praying imeans : salaa and duaa

salaa: what we have to do 5 times a day

duaa: when you to god for health, thank him for all his blessings ..etc

In the first thing, it has to be in arabic because prayers to muslims are sort of unity. All muslims pray the same number of prayers with the same words and the same way. TIf I am in America and I went to a mosque, they will pray the same way as I do, that itself is beatiful and gives muslims a sense of one community.

he second one could be in any kind of language. In fact when you make duaa in your own language it is closer to your heart and closer to Allah.

What do Muslims believe about Allah?
1. He is the One God, Who has no partner.

2. Nothing is like Him. He is the Creator, not created, nor a part of His creation.

3. He is All-Powerful, absolutely just and free from any type of mistake.

4. There is no other entity in the entire universe worthy of worship besides Him.

5. He is First, Last and Everlasting; He was when nothing was and will be when nothing else remains.

There are more too many to mention, but what i would like to point out is that i have written MUSLIMS not arabs. Allah or God is to all muslims whatever their origin of birth or mother tongue maybe as long as beliveing in The AlMighty is through islam then he is considered for all within our religion.
