As-Salam Alykum:

In this thread i wanted to talk about the Men power that Islam give it to them, are they using it as it is suppose to be?
or how can you explain this sentence(Men got the power on women), by comparing what they should be and what are they doing now? and that will be in three sides:

1.husbend with wife

Most of the husbends nowadays dont treat thier wives as it is suppose to be, for example the power that a husbend using it all the time like a game is DIVORCE as if its nothing

2.brother with sister

Somtimes a brother controles his sister in every single thing even if she want s to buy somthing like a pin:duh:

3.son with mother

Some of them will treat them mother like she is younger then them, for example saying orders ......:eyes:

which is not suppose to be, as my opinion they dont follow what they should follow,

so what do you think

Does this sound like God speaking?Men got the power on women Use your beautiful head for something, besides wearing a hat, and you will find your answer.

God did not and would not say this. Man did!

i think you are talking about some of the sick Muslims who tend to show their power over their families. Aren't you?

Jack,

the statment "men got power on women" as was said before is in arabic: (al rijal qawamoon ala al nisaa) does not mean men can exercize thier poer over woman, but that men are reponsible to be the financial supporter of women.

a woman in Islam is not reponsible to take care of her income, any man in her family is responsible to do so. If she works, all the money she earns is totally hers and she is not obliged to pay any cent of her income.

I will answer you ... that maybe they did not read the completion of the Ayya in the Quran....
Let us read it together,

ÇáÑøöÌóÇáõ ÞóæøóÇãõæäó Úóáóì ÇáäøöÓóÇÁ ÈöãóÇ ÝóÖøóáó Çááøåõ ÈóÚúÖóåõãú Úóáóì ÈóÚúÖò æóÈöãóÇ ÃóäÝóÞõæÇú ãöäú ÃóãúæóÇáöåöãú

Men are the protectors and maintainers of women, because Allâh has made one of them to excel the other, and because they spend (to support them) from their means.

So i guess everything is clear and does not need any explnation. Maybe just a comment that what muslims do does not mean it is correct, we should always see what Islam says. :)
